Evidently Dale Berra’s 3-run home run earned him ⭐️ of the game🤷🏻‍♂️!

Grandma Minnie Lee followed her Reds(even coaches) after they left Cincinnati. Such a true Reds (and baseball) fan.

Always makes me smile when I see her scorecards from Danny Jackson’s postseason outings in 1985 with the Royals and how impressed she was with him.He joined her Reds in 1988, became an all-star & played an integral role on the 1990 World Series championship team.He brought her much joy. Thanks Danny!

Notes I found from Grandma to me many years after she passed😇. These are from 1986 after the Mets clinched the NLCS and then after the Mets won the World Series and Knight (an ex-Red😊) was named MVP. She was so loyal to her former Reds and was genuinely happy & sad for them.

Eddie Milner had the only hit in 5 one hitters! Of course @grandmasscorebook.bsky.social has some scorecards from those games. I love the little notes, “Reuss was a star!”

Here are three of those games when he broke up the no-hitters. Grandma makes sure she gives credit to those pitchers. She respected their performances. You can feel her respect.

Here’s this pitching gem on August 30, 1989 against the Reds at Busch Stadium. He pitched 11 innings, giving up 1 hit (single in top of the 4th) for a no decision!

Hank Aaron #715 Grandma was ready, setting aside a green marker (before highlighters😊) to highlight this iconic milestone when it happened. She wanted to make sure this moment stood out!

Random response… 6/8/86 Terry Mulholland made his MLB debut against the Reds at Candlestick Park. Grandma’s hearing was not great and her radio was not the best. She notes “Jerry Mohallic 1st ML start…Mulhall” Great effort in a no decision 7IP, 5H, 1R, 1ER, 3BB, 6SO

Grandma’s notes in her 1977 scorebook… 9/11/77 “Vada Pinson is to be inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame tomorrow” 9/12/77 “Vada was inducted into Reds Hall of Fame tonight, before game. Vada was Joe’s guest on the pregame show tonight.” She’s also tracking the magic number for a possible 3-peat!

Yes, all 19 seasons. She caught lightning in a bottle from 1973-91 with the Reds! Construction of the Big Red Machine, winning in 75 & 76, acquisition of Tom Terrific, Rose’s chase of DiMaggio, then becoming the Hit King, to sweeping the Mighty A’s in 1990. She promised me the scorebooks to keep!😇

4/25/78 Grandma notes on her scorecard “Tommy John got his 1500th strikeout in 8th inning to Collins” He would end his career with 2,245. She was also getting frustrated with Foster’s slow start after his 1977 MVP season “Foster had struck out 20 times before this game (none today) thank goodness”

Nope, here in Louisville it was on 1450 WXVW. @cardchronicle.bsky.social This was the back cover of her 1986 scorebook. These are hidden gems in her scorebooks. You find poems, phone numbers, promotional dates. We can see she was looking forward to Tony Perez Day on September 21, 1986!

Tom Seaver gets his no-hitter on June 16, 1978 beating the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 at Riverfront Stadium. You can feel grandma’s excitement with all her !!!! and underlining for emphasis!!! When she was excited she wrote larger as well. These were her guys and she was all in with them each night.

First post and I sincerely hope you can appreciate grandma’s scorecards as much as I do. Let’s start with this masterpiece. 10/21/75 World Series Game 6 @ Fenway Park. Red Sox 7- Reds 6 in a 12-inning classic. Carlton Fisk ends it with his iconic walk-off home run. She marked home runs with an H.
