Google violated its own internal rules prohibiting the use of artificial intelligence for weapons or surveillance in 2024 by assisting IOF military contractors in analysing drone video footage, according to a confidential federal whistleblower complaint filed by a former employee and reviewed by The Washington Post.

- The complaint says Google’s Gemini AI technology was used by the IOF at a time when the company was publicly signaling distance from the occupation's military, following staff protests over a contract with the Zionist government. Internal documents attached to the complaint support this claim.

- The whistleblower said that Google misled investors and breached securities laws by acting inconsistently with its stated positions, particularly since the company’s AI principles were cited in federal regulatory filings.

- “That process is robust… But when it came to Israel and Gaza, the opposite was true,” the former employee wrote, accusing the company of applying a double standard in enforcement
