For a movie event, I had a box of chocolates with grammar slogans shipped to our hotel in Illinois. The package was severely delayed with USPS and arrived after our departure, so I arranged with the hotel that they would send it back to NYC when it arrived. But what happened instead is that

When I saw my final hotel bill in The Hague this morning, which wasn't zero euros as I had expected, I told the people at the front desk, "Oh, I didn't actually *eat* the snacks. I just put them in the safe so I wouldn't eat them." They credited me back the snacks.
