Even if these ego grifters are somehow “expanding the tournament’s audience”, is it the sort of audience they want/need? Is someone who laps up 30 seconds of vacuous #content actually going to sit down and watch a set/make it through a match? Did the #USOpen think about any of that? Doubtful.

Players continue to suffer the consequences of letting these dickheads in. What did the US Open expect giving some of the best seats in the house to all-about-me influencers (as if there’s any other type)? Just invite people who actually give a shit about tennis. www.skysports.com/tennis/news/...

Right? Both always do their homework. Saying “I don’t have the words” isn’t a great look when you’ve known what’s coming and might have taken a moment or two beforehand to jot a few things down on paper.

Listening to poor old Mark Austin flounder his way through two hours of eclipse coverage on Sky News is possibly an even more fascinating spectacle than the main event.

Eric, so sorry for such a tardy reply – I’m only now re-emerging into the light! Thanks for following the along with us. Despite the overall being a done deal, it still had the feeling of a compelling race, day by day. And that double-header on d’Huez to finish was superb. Cheers man 🤝

The annoying thing is that immigration is down, boat crossings are down, the economy has been pretty stable, we’re reintegrating with the EU, NHS waiting lists have gone down… what else do people want Starmer to do? We’re a small, poor, stupid country. The right won’t let us be better.
