The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue (1974) d. Jorge Grau 'Non si deve profanare il sonno dei morti' Some films you just love from the first second to the last and for me this is one of those... Off to Manchester tomorrow though hopefully not to the morgue! #Halloween26 #Physicalmedia

Castle of the Creeping Flesh (1968) d. Adrian Hoven 'Im Schloß der blutigen Begierde' Mad science, a waxwork diorama of a family tragedy, a ferocious bear attack and lots of stock footage of heart surgery make this an odd bit of Euro sleaze. Jess Franco was one of the writers, though uncredited...

Martin (1977) d. George A. Romero Watched back to back English version then Italian version 'Wampyr' with amazing soundtrack by Goblin. Those Arrow special edition dvds were superb... #Halloween26 #PhysicalMedia

Amsterdamned (1988) d. Dick Maas Love this one! A killer stalks the canals of Amsterdam from below the water. One mighty fine boat chase that's worth the price of the popcorn on its own... #Halloween26

The Curse of Halloween Jack (2019) d. Andrew Jones A sequel to yesterday's film. Stars local actor Charlotte Mounter who lives in the next town to me. Sadly she doesn't last long... #Halloween26🎃

The Legend of Halloween Jack (2018) d. Andrew Jones Every year I take this from the shelf, read a couple of terrible reviews and put it back. This year I have taken the plunge and given it a spin. It's low budget, derivative and has some odd plot moments but overall not so bad... #Halloween26🎃

Pulp - What Do You Do for an Encore? (2026) d. Garth Jennings Not a band I've ever given much time to but I did enjoy this documentary/live performance hybrid. I ended up liking Pulp more than I did at the beginning so that's got to be a plus for this film...

Fire Maidens of Outer Space (1956) d. Cy Roth Re-watched with the excellent commentary by @eofftv.bsky.social and Jonathan Rigby. I've had a great fondness for this film ever since writing about it many years ago as part of an OU course.

Voices from Beyond (1991) d. Lucio Fulci 'Voci dal profondo' #FulciMonday comes round quickly doesn't it! Penultimate Fulci is a dreamy whodunnit with some nice touches and a novel method of committing the murder...

Planet of the Female Invaders (1966) d. Alfredo B. Crevenna 'El planeta de las mujeres invasoras' The invaders of the title want to harvest the lungs of children in order to breath in Earth's atmosphere! #LorenaVelázquez plays both alien identical twin sisters, the good one and the not so good one.

Santo vs. the Vampire Women (1962) d. Alfonso Corona Blake 'Santo vs. las mujeres vampiro' Santo the masked wrestler takes on a nest of vampires. Lots of wrestling footage as one would expect from a Mexican genre film from this era but also lots of fun... #LorenaVelázquez🖤

La nave de los monstruos (1960) d. Rogelio A. González Lucky dip from my dvd-r collection is a Mexican sci-fi film with a pair of Venusian females hunting the galaxy for mates to take back to their planet. They have on board a collection of the galaxy's finest monstrous males! #LorenaVelázquez🖤

I Saw the TV Glow (2024) Jane Schoenbrun Along with the director's first film, We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, this is one of my favourite films of recent years. Resonates with those feelings of angst and loneliness felt by young people past and present in a powerful and beautifully sad way...

Rumpelstiltskin (1960) d. Erwin Anders, Christoph Engel Little Red Riding Hood (1962) d. Götz Friedrich From Eureka's Folktales at Defa collection. East German adaptations from the 60s that are both heartwarming and scary at the same time! #Märchenfilme

Return to Sleepaway Camp (2008) d. Robert Hiltzik First and most likely last watch for me! I'm quite fond of the first three films and enjoyed Felissa Rose and Pamela Springsteen doing their stuff but even with the original director this one was a disappointing end to the franchise...

Graham🐝 @grahamthings.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor (2012) d. Jim Markovic Of course Sleepaway Camp IV doesn't really exist. What we have here is 30+ mins of footage shot before the film company went bankrupt, compiled with material from the first three films. For SAC completists and rabbit hole explorers only! 🐰

Graham🐝 @grahamthings.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (1989) d. Michael A. Simpson More of the same but if that means more of Pamela Springsteen as the badass psycho killer then I'm OK with that...

Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988) d. Michael A. Simpson Slasher sequel with a respectable body count. Fine performance by Pamela Springsteen, sister of Bruce, as psychotic serial killer Angela Baker...

Faces of Death (2026) Daniel Goldhaber One I didn't get to see at FrightFest. A serial killer attempts to copy the deaths from the original but this time making them real. I enjoyed this more than I had expected but why do they all have a superfast laptop? I click then make a cuppa while I wait...

Troll Hunter (2010) d. André Øvredal 'Trolljegeren' I'd forgotten how much fun this is! Love the way it is played dead straight. Back in the 60s I had a troll on top of my school pencil...

The Devil’s Candy (2015) d. Sean Byrne Movie for metalheads with 'additional music' by the mighty Sun O))). Demonic possession and child sacrifice; I like this one and now I get to watch it in 4k UHD.🔥

Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary (1975) d. Juan López Moctezuma By the director of the wonderful Alucarda (1977) this is another different take on the vampire story. Has 70s charm with plenty of weirdness...

Frankenstein: Day of the Beast (2011) Ricardo Islas In The Last Matinee (2020) which was yesterday's film this is what was showing on the screen while the killer did his stuff. American production but Uruguayan director who played the killer in TLM. Low budget effort but not without a certain charm

Graham🐝 @grahamthings.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

The Last Matinee (2020) d. Maximiliano Contenti 'Al morir la matinée' Next up in my very short Uruguayan horror mini season is this 'slasher in a cinema' film. Once again shot in Montevideo. I liked this one a lot. Loved the analogue cine equipment in the projection room...🇺🇾

Virus: 32 (2022) Gustavo Hernández Another from Uruguayan director Hernandez. This one shot in Montevideo and featuring '28 Days Later' style infected with a couple of modifications. I've read some really bad reviews but all I can say is that some folk must have a problem with having a good time! 🇺🇾

Graham🐝 @grahamthings.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

The Silent House (2010) d. Gustavo Hernández I haven't seen many genre films from Uruguay, though one of my favourites from the recent FrightFest was from that country. Lots of atmosphere here as a young woman uncovers the hidden secrets of an old dark house. Chilling and claustrophobic. 🇺🇾

Graham🐝 @grahamthings.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Begotten (1989) d. E. Elias Merhige Still very weird after many watches. Has a special place in my brain as I came across this film back in the early days of the internet and it has stayed with me. Beloved by many Black Metal bands who have used it as a backdrop to a performance...
