Another day, and more of my teenage years make for the exit. Was pleased to find a receipt from every indie kid's favourite record seller in Rugby inside my copy of the Bauhaus 1979 - 1983 LP. Simon ran Convergence records and was a lovely bloke. V. BIG influence on many a teen's ears in our town.
An order form from 1985 ish(?) for a double Bauhaus LP called 1979 - 1983. A signed receipt of a deposit payment and the record sleeve itself - all lying on a table.

Just sold a fairly rare Bauhaus 7" & flexi. Haven't played them in 30+ years. There is an ever so slightly small twinge of something that's not quite regret, nor nostalgia, more, bloody hell, I'm really old. Glad they're going to someone who will enjoy them anew. It is time to pass the love on.

Found an old notebook of every gig I went to from 1983 to 1995. For some mysterious reason it was hiding in among some journalism notebooks from my Reuters days. Got to be some legs inside this.
A blue, striped notebook with Gigs, Gigs, Gigs... written on it. There is a price tag for 40p (showing it's age). The notebook is sitting on a brown cardboard box with some tape wrapped around it on a tiled floor.

Picked up an old NME in a record shop in Brussels today. Quite a prescient quote from Alan Vega.
Black text on white background. Excerpt from an interview with Alan Vega in NME, published on 13 March 1982. "
...People always thought of Suicide as
gruelling and hard, but all these groups picked up on the soft, romantic side, which went back as far as 'Cheree'.
"Yeah, it's a smash. In the year 2000 or something. They're hits - 'Cheree', 'Sweetheart'. I'm not trying to come off with a big ego, but those songs, I love them. 'Dream Baby Dream' has so much feeling, it could be a gigantic hit song. Probably will be someday, when we're dead. When they don't have to look at us.
"People are becoming aware of Suicide because of what's happening with Alan Vega, these tours, the record sales in Europe. Now, because it has a past tense, it almost looks like..."
