I'm spending today and most of tomorrow in Manchester (seeing #BigBigTrain tonight) and to save a bit of time in the morning I've posted #14 of my#ArtistFaveNonAlbumSingles a day early. Normal service is set to resume on Thursday although I haven't actually chosen #15 yet

#ArtistFaveNonAlbumSingles 14/15 Good morning Ceremony is the vital bridge between Joy Division and the legacy left by the tragic death of Ian Curtis. If Ian had received the help he needed how different the music of the 80s and 90s might have been youtu.be/Vyyu4UYZfLE?...

#ArtistFaveNonAlbumSingles 13/15 Good morning Surprisingly a stand alone single from 1980. Unsurprisingly it went straight to #1. Two minutes and fifty seconds of Paul Weller's acerbic, vitriolic lyrics aimed directly at Margaret Hilda Thatcher. We needed The Jam back then youtu.be/AE1ct5yEuVY?...

Buy a scanner for the smart cards and connect it up to said database and finally put a scannable qr code in every single book in your library. Let's get 21st century with this

Could that be construed as a threat? If so they're just making things worse. When foreign officials start trying to manipulate the consequences of an English club's wrongdoing (with an implication that a foreign country was complicit or at least knowledgeable of the wrongdoing) something has to give

The inhumane solution is easy: facial recognition cameras connect up to a national database; individuals are then flagged up as 'under observation'; whenever said individuals require an ambulance or attention at an A&E... But of course we British are too nice to do something like that

Blackpool Illuminations. As a kid in the '60s there'd be a train journey from Liverpool every autumn and we'd get on a bus and see as much of the five mile long display as possible before it was time to go home. If memory serves the Illuminations were only lit from early September until late October
