Obviously, tools can enable certain tasks or at least make them easier. A screwdriver generally helps you put in a screw better than a butter knife, although you can use a butter knife to put in a screw if you haven't got a screwdriver. Likewise, in witchcraft, you can ask the help of a plant's spirit when you work with an herb for a particular magical task. Yarrow shows, on the material level, what a master it is at shapeshifting, so it makes sense to ask its help when you want to learn how to shapeshift. The different scent profiles of yarrow are like the different shapes that an individual witch's double can take. You can explore along those lines by growing some of your yarrow in one area and the rest in another and comparing the results.

Consider: What happens to a plant's self when it is divided, as may happen to a yarrow plant in its third year? You can dig up the crown, rudely split it apart with garden forks or even rip it apart with your hands, and plant the two different clumps in two parts of your garden or in two different hemispheres. They will grow. But are they still the same individual? Do you have one individual in two different places? Or do the two clumps, by being separated, somehow become two different individuals?
Personally, I wonder if plants produced this way-by dividing the crown, or breaking arms off a tap root, or even rooting a cutting—have a consciousness that extends to all the parts of itself, no matter where they may be. In effect, do all the clones share one mind or a collective soul?

Post by still_.life: There are phases where nothing feels clear. Ideas don't land, motivation drops, and even the work you love starts to feel heavy. It's easy to assume something is wrong in those moments.

But most of the time, nothing is wrong. You just haven't created in a while.

For artists, creating isn't only about output or results. It's how you process things, how you make sense of your own thoughts, how you reconnect with yourself. The act itself does more than the final piece ever can.

Even sitting down and making something small - a rough sketch, a few lines, a simple experiment - can shift your state completely. Not because it's perfect, but because it exists.

If you've been feeling stuck, don't wait for clarity first. Start, and let the clarity come through the process.

Waxing moon in Sagittarius aspecting Saturn, Venus + Mars and then in a shit sandwich most of today (void, but translating light between two hard aspects to malefics): wildfires create smoke that lingers in the air and makes it hard to breathe. Saturn is also stationing retrograde, so gravity is landing with a thud. Today is for acknowledging where the obstacle is and how you're gonna need to pivot around it. You can only ignore smoke for so long before you put out the fire.
