I updated my total eclipse webcam viewer for today's eclipse! Once totality begins you'll see a live-updating umbra, so you can race to the next webcam and see the eclipse happen over and over again. jonty.github.io/2026_eclipse...

A map showing the path of the 2026 total eclipse over Iceland and Spain, with markers showing webcams and a countdown until the eclipse begins, and it hitting the first webcam.

2 Cats - Gay Skeleton Club - surely this year's Chaise Longue? Still not annoying me yet, still the best song I've heard this year... @skepwax.bsky.social

This isn't yet getting annoying :-) My favourite "new" track on Pets Sounds...

There are loads of songs you hear as a kid, and theyre still the best ever, even if they critically weren't. I taped this off John Peel 40 years back, it's still pretty much the best MBV ever to my ears... www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvBb...

Velocity Girl - cover of Breaking Lines (Pastels). I bought the VG records when they came out in the 90s. This was probably the first one single I didn't buy in the CD generation. Last track on velocitygirl.bandcamp.com/album/simpat... *superb* cover. Yeah I'm a bit late.

That Snocaps LP appeared as if by magic, and then disappeared. It really shouldn;t have, it's great. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSBr...

I haven't seen one of these so far today, so what the hell. I was 25 last time put a new Heavenly @heavenlyamelia.bsky.social @skepwax.bsky.social LP on the deck... I think this outdoes the 26 year Prolapse @derrymick.bsky.social @prolapseband.bsky.social gap from last year 😜

I;ve done bugger all to make the world a better place last year. Best records - The Beths and Lightning In A Twilight Hour. Most looking forward to in early 2026 - Just Joans, obviously.

Makes you feel strange. Am listening to an old Altered Images Peel session (80 or 81 I guess); before AI played "Jeepster", Peel said "this song is 10 years old this week". I bought 7" singles when I was 10 by AI. Probably didn't know who Marc Bolan was then. Def didn't know he'd left us. Strange

One of those fun weeks. Briliant @prolapseband.bsky.social single after 26 years, brilliant Allo Darlin single next week, and a brilliant sounding @jetstreampony.bsky.social LP. Briliant!

Am I the only person who thinks the new HOUSE Of All LP sounds like something Nigel Blackwell could produce in his sleep? Probably still heresy in this day and age.

For a 'retirement' village of 200 people, we're not short of darts players... we even dress the same.

2/2 ...even played on a someone's big red Rickenbacker at some point. But there are no photos of the music event, apart from what I was there to so as a job... but I took these two on my way down to the Zodiac...

@darrenhayman.bsky.social got me looking at the last photos I took in Oxford before I left for Devon. I know exactly what I was doing on my last day - heading to Audioscope, where I met up with Amelia F, Greg W and all the indiepop royalty... 1/2

Listening to old recent-ish stuff. Lande Hekt's original does the Wedding Present better than The Wedding Present. Probably said that this time last year on some other site. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cl1w...

I found this from the back end of my photographer career; Camden Monarch, I was there to take photos of Butterflies of Love (truly brilliant), but this is a photo of Tracyanne, totally unprocessed, who also played that night... I quite like this @camera-obscura.bsky.social
