Here is another teaser, every space comes with /diagnose tool showing tree internals (this tree of the team space). Notice those ☁️ icons on the right those are for subtrees that have not being replicated validating my and @cdata.earth's hypothesis about partial replicas

Also you may have noticed we are dogfooding system by moving all our processes into a team space which has being evolving with a system and our processes to reflect the way we want to work

Space is a dialog database containing all the data, views and behaviors expressed via datalog through deductive and inductive rules. Feels like things are coming together nicely

Loving ability to see members of the space in @tonk.xyz which also reflect topology of responsibilities. It also happens to be a representation of @ucan.xyz delegations chains. Space delegated ownership to founder who then delegated access to other members

Also I can't believe I'm saying this but I feel like I want `did:iroh:{pub_key}` method 🤦‍♂️

Has anyone attempted an idea of @iroh.computer endpoint via CF Durable Object yet ? It probably can't be raw QUIC transport and implementation would need to be hibernateable to be cost effective, but something I'd be very interested in trying out

Is there common URI scheme these days for addressing bytes by their hash ?

Connected peers will be searched over all of the Iroh discovery mechanisms, so it's not limited to local machine

This prove of concept does something very cool, it public "secret" to create RTC offer / answer with 17.0.0.1 candidates on a port range using it like mDNS service discovery protocol and then allows you to connect with discovered nodes via Iroh over WebRTC transport extension

Here is an @iroh.computer teaser, showing web browser finding a iroh node (on my machine) replicating two dialog db's that you can connect to via WebRTC transport (without relays)

Anyone knows why did:plc does not support ed25519 keys for rotation. p256 has suspicion of backdoor and k256 is not supported by web crypto

🤔Maybe issue isn’t amount of slop LLMs generate, but an amount required to do those things 🫣

I'm not against services, I think they can be introduced for convenience and improve experience, yet I find it important to make them optional for system resilience. That way system can continue to operate even when service provider denies service

Thinking of coining "serviceless architecture" term to describe dialog's deliberate choice of syncing without server component which cost some efficiency, but prevents lock-in.

Me and @cdata.earth have considered designs that would allow using PDS as a dialog remote you can pull/push and query across lexicons, but at this stage that has not made it to a top priority for either of us. If anyone wants to try I’d gladly support them in that effort by sharing insights

There is a twisted irony for companies right now. In Satya's latest article "A frontier without an ecosystem is not stable," he warned about a future where "a few models eat everything they see." That phrase captures the bet companies are making right now whether they realise it or not.

The industrial revolution organized companies around the production line. The computer revolution organized them around the database. What will be the organizing principle of the AI revolution?

Carry is a CLI tool we built on top of Dialog-DB to make the source of truth problem tractable in practice. A structured, persistent collective memory. The schema forms at query time. Repositories sync whenever they connect. Try it: github.com/tonk-labs/carry

There’s a case to be made that storing delegations as opposed to invocations prevents unbound things to store, yet in practice delegations are ephemeral so revocations can be dropped as what they revoke expires. In web3.storage we used grow only set of revoked UCAN CIDs -nice & easy state to manage

🤔I wish it was clear why UCANs alone not suffice here. Ability to revoke is important, but it would appear that addressing that would be simpler and more complementary. This isn’t a criticism, it’s desire to seek understanding

I personally look forward to adding @iroh.computer as one of the possible remotes so that even dumb buffer is just a path for resilience as opposed to fundamental requirement
030
gozala @gozala.io · 08/04/2026
Remotes are like git remotes as in you can (and should) have multiple of them, that way even some of them completely shutting down can not shut you down
110
gozala @gozala.io · 08/04/2026
Dialog deliberately has no server component because operator of server is ultimately in control. Instead dialog allows replication over git like remotes which are just networked storage locations for keeping hash addressed blobs reachable. Making cloud into a dumb shared buffer inverts control
110
gozala @gozala.io · 08/04/2026
This is where prolly trees github.com/attic-labs/n... and g-trees.github.io/g_trees/ offered interesting solution allowing us to build shared index (At-proto merkle search trees are also in the same family of probabilistic search trees) which is core of dialog-db
110
gozala @gozala.io · 08/04/2026
Yet you still need this shared index so clients can query to discover things here they can find locations for content they can read from. But shared index still a challenge who host it who gets to update it etc..
100
gozala @gozala.io · 08/04/2026
github.com/mikeal had a brilliant idea what if we remove servers and let clients just query index and read from networked storage
110
gozala @gozala.io · 08/04/2026
Experience building web3.storage & nft.storage made it super clear that proxying lot of bytes is pretty costly at large scale.
Cost of proxying bytes adds up

gozala @gozala.io · 08/04/2026
🎯 Need for shared indexes is what you run against when trying to decentralize. Not only we need shared index, but everyone just need a small slice of it. This was original motivation of dialog-db, what if we could collectively own shared index that you can query without having to replicate it all

Problem isn’t a technology, but an asymmetry of power distribution that this technology is amplifying. Silicone valley had being looking to disrupt & this technology is like no other, unfolding it in front of our eye. Those that benefit are ones on top with no regard to those being disrupted

I’m not sure if people are unable to or have no practical experience. I would argue that most people thought that declarative view derivation from state was crazy until it became mainstream with react.

I think we need both. LLMs are like JIT but they need clear input and instruction set to work with. That is to say we need cooperating system™️ they can inhibit which requires system language

I'm inclined to think logic programming languages provide fertile ground - you describe outcomes & constraints without telling how to get there That is also a reason of my obsession with datalog & www.neilconway.org/docs/dedalus... extension to allow expressing distributed system behaviors

Imperfect analogy, but deterministic builds are still not an industry norm so in some sense outputs aren't completely deterministic yet predictable This is a stretching it but in some sense hypothetical language can make LLMS into compilers produce non-deterministic code with predictable behavior
