2018… I haven’t played Hollow Knight, but still, holy shit…

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 20/08/2025

This is a weird way to break my hiatus, but someone on the site that shall not be mentioned was having trouble drawing Bowser, so I thought I’d leave my notes and observations here.

You basically can’t draw Bowser’s shell without understanding his the shapes of his overall body, which the shell wraps around.

The person said they were having trouble drawing the face, which I assumed meant the muzzle, so I really tried to break that down.

fixed it without the image jumpscare to make this accessible (for people who don't want dictator don reblogged) also added alt text. it's bloody awful.

tweet by @lqvekanthony that reads "the trevor project can be reached directly at 1-866-488-7386, even when this is going to be gone. please share to possibly save someone's life." in all caps.

the quote tweet from @popbase says "the trump administration is shutting down the national LGBTQ+ youth suicide lifeline on july 17th."

the original image had a picture of trump and a pride flag. they have been cropped out in this image so the information here is the main focus, and not the images.

Specifically, I liked the idea of keeping the eyes as dots. It just feels right and always keeps it clear where they're looking.

For what it's worth, your sketches influenced how I draw my version of the Inkling Girl. I always liked how the stylization looked.

You don’t seem to be alone in that experience, from what I’ve heard. What did you think I meant with what I said about archives?

100

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 07/06/2025

I didn’t mean anything by it, I honestly just meant I thought you’d want to hold on to an old piece of art that almost got lost to time.

110

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 07/06/2025

I found it!!! I actually had to look it up indirectly through replies/reblogs of your deleted Tumblr. Thought I’d share with you to keep in your archives.

I just looked back on your old Twitter, the one with the same name you have here, and it only goes back to 2017. Are there any other accounts you had there?

@zombiraptor.bsky.social Do you happen to have a super old sketch page of an Inkling Girl you drew way back when Splatoon was new? I can’t find it on Google, but it’s important to me.

Fair enough. Still probably not gonna go see it lmao, but I’m glad you had a good time.

Tbh to me it didn’t look like something worth giving my time to, not that I really care about Marvel to begin with. It just looked so bland visually in the trailers. All the cold lighting and desaturated colors.

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/03/2025

That makes more sense. It’s an indicator that they should go bigger with their next project that’s like this.

010

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/03/2025

I’m not a professional but everything else looked believable to me. Not bad for a first attempt.

010

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/03/2025

Pretty close. Something about the body text looks off to me. It almost looks too crisp against the page to be authentic. Maybe you need to add a subtle shadow to the left to indicate the paper turning toward where it was stapled?

100

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/03/2025

By this I mean that everyone knows it’ll get pirated/leaked eventually.

010

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/03/2025

That, and I’d imagine that they realize that Zaslav has made enough enemies through canning Coyote that they might as well get ahead of the crowd and profit while they can.

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/03/2025

If the Wikipedia article is to be believed, the movie has made $6M against a $15M budget. That’s considered good for its budget? /gen

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/03/2025

Yeah I figured as much but it hasn’t been made official yet. I’m a bit confused on why TDTEBU would inspire them to release Coyote v. Acme, even tho TDTEBU underperformed against its budget. Can someone who understands finance possibly explain what could be informing their decision?

I hope Farmer Jim and The Invader at least get little nods in new Looney Tunes material going forward. Has there been any word on “Bye Bye Bunny”?

000

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 04/03/2025

I find the art style kinda weird. It looks vaguely reminiscent of Wind Waker, and I’m not a fan of the extreme stylization they went with for Fox at this point. In Command’s defense, I’ve heard the script was horribly translated from Japanese to where a lot of nuance got lost.

@dreaminerryday.newgrounds.com This is probably a dumb question, but have you ever tried working in comics? I remembered this piece recently, and I’m sure someone out there would be willing to pull strings to get you in as a colorist in comics.

010

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 23/12/2024

I’m in awe of how people do textured, detailed backgrounds like this. Do you have your process for this piece or ones similar to it detailed anywhere?

010

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/12/2024

If I could ask one more question and then I’ll leave you alone: do you know of any editors off the top of your head I could use to start my search?

000

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/12/2024

Oh, I see! Thank you for the advice!

010

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 21/12/2024

I see, thank you. If I could ask some follow-ups, what do you mean by editors? Like, just someone to look over my work? Do you think what I have is “good enough,” or of professional quality?

GSKeed @gottaspeedkeed.bsky.social · 20/12/2024

Thank you, I’m sorry for all the trouble. What do you mean by showcasing?
