Going to back to that anecdote: I looked around and realized how much it sucks being surrounded by hundreds that don't get me and would rather hurt me or worse than try to understand what I am and believe. And even if I was more correct in my observations of reality, that doesn't matter to many...

Just living a bit longer than being brazen and burning at the stake can be better on the long run; extra time to accept your truth and live it fully

Yeah, I understand. In my opinion, I doubt things will change and the only real option is acceptance of being a pariah to most people. Sucks that the ones that get me are far from me, spread around this planet...guess your situation is similar. I'm going to share a little anecdote.

Although there are many examples of artists who were misfits and despite that they found people that DO like and support them because of their eccentricity, there's plenty others that weren't successful and ended up tragically. You never know which you'll be...until you're there. Wish you good luck

I've also struggled with being accepted. I know my survival chances are decreased by not fitting with the majority. But we're social animals. We can find the "weirdos" and try to band up together to live regardless of the disapproval or tyranny of the majority. Or you can give in and join them.

However, I doubt you want to be surrounded by people that would dislike you, or worse, become your enemies, the moment they knew the real you. Yes, I know how tiresome it is to be looking over and over and not finding others, but I do believe you will find them if you keep trying. I've found a few.

Maybe you're looking in the wrong places. Perhaps it's time for you to try to find the ones like you and build together a space to survive. And yes, I know that if you have few resources it's near impossible to do that. I haven't found a good solution either. I'm lucky to still be somehow alive.

the cost of "fitting" in places made by someone else is hiding and loss of authenticity. If you feel you're not genuine or that you're putting an act for everyone you meet, so they like you/don't hurt you...I think it might be worth asking who are you, how you got there, and who are you looking for.

Counter question: Do you NEED to fit in places made "before" your existence? You might answer "yes, duh" because you're certain you need it for survival, i.e. getting resources from others via the transactional system we live in, due to everything (food, shelter,etc) having an owner nowadays. But...

2) I would absolutely recommend it to someone about to "quit" life, if you get me. As in before you do that, drop a crazy dose and see what happens. For everyone in a less urgent situation...depends on too many things for it to be worth it. e.g. someone with severe alcoholism might benefit greatly.

However at the very least I will say 2 points. 1) Yes, psychedelics can be great and awful (sometimes both within the same trip). They could reveal things you weren't ready for and then you'll have to deal with the aftermath. Some people only need a single trip in their lives. Some many. Some none.

Yup! You can learn this through other less painful ways than brain injury: psychedelics. In those states you can see how easily malleable perception is. Once you realize that a few milligrams of a mushroom or plant-based chemical made reality and time stop being so certain...yep, big revelation.

Bsky/xiter/similar aren't great for art, at least in my opinion. Bsky has compressed low quality uploads forced to webp (don't like the format), and any site like this will never implement a proper gallery feature vs other places. I like browsing people's favorites in FA for instance.
