A young lady at work was shocked that she has to pay Social Security. She phoned the IRS, and the person on the other end just said, "That's the way the world works." In the next breath this outraged lady said, "I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but..." And I rolled my eyes internally.

I didn't tell kiddo's teacher that it was their birthday, and send some sort of food. Because now that's expected of parents? And kiddo's heart broke because no one said happy birthday (besides us) at school.

Practicing gratitude again, family edition: I'm grateful for my village, without whom I would be adrift in life's current. I'm grateful for my in-laws, and the active role they have in helping raise my kiddo. I'm grateful for my dad, and the support he has provided for getting kiddo to therapy.

TADC just... destroyed me. I had made it most of the way through the series, when I hit a major trigger, and noped out. But my wife gently got me to watch through the finale. That was a hell of an ending.

Keep practicing, even if you're not completely satisfied with the results. You can do quite a bit of miniature painting with a size 1 brush and craft paints. You can always add a drop or two of water to thin down your paint and make it flow easier.
