Structural Enginerd. If your argument for metric is “something…something base 10,” you’re arguing for Fahrenheit. If you acknowledge a pre-1998 college football national champion, you should acknowledge that Kansas is the 2020 basketball national champion.

I’d like to grow the football screen just a bit. Hard to se the ball on FGs, etc.and baseball would be fine a bit smaller.

Watching the Vikings and the Brewers on multiview. Sound on football, as that’s a much more, need to pay attention to enjoy, sport. Can glance over, watch a pitch, etc. and follow the ballgame. This may be the ideal way.

Ian Eagle was correct a Bison does have a muscular shoulder hump and shorter curved horns. (They also have shaggy brown pelts) That detailed of an analysis is largely unnecessary when trying to figure out what you’re looking at if you are in North America.

Because it came up during the Patriots v Bills game. NFL fans, a Bison 🦬 is an “American Buffalo,” a Buffalo 🐃 is all other “buffaloes.” There is no need to analyze “shoulder humps” or horn length/curvature as you’re driving across North Dakota. Those are Bison. Sci. Name - Bison Bison.

2) The goal line sideline pylon should be located in bounds. If the ball hits the pylon, the goal line is extended out to infinity, but in the current configuration the ball is out of bounds before hitting pylon.

Changes I’d make in the NFL/Football: 1) If an “eligible passer” (for lack of a better term) loses the ball and it goes forward it’s an incomplete pass, backwards a fumble. None of this did he have control and a hand moving forward BS.

It’s this dumb meme. Someone put that mark there to either denote a 6 or a 9. Just because you have a different perspective does not change that fact.

I’m not trying to have a conversation with you if you don’t agree facts are facts.

Once again tapping the sign: “You live in a bubble,” was only ever an explanation for the surprise of 2016, and should never be extended to, “and maybe, the guy who thinks the NAZIs winning would be good, is right.” Or the other examples in this thread.

Tottenham could’ve dropped a few more points last season and this would’ve been a historic first NFL game in an English Championship Stadium.

I’m generally a “trends and forces” not a “great man” believer in history, but jeezers, if Saddam Hussein doesn’t invade Kuwait, and the U.S. winds down its military spending in the mid to late ‘90’s as the Cold War ends, the world is a completely different place.

Just watched The Omen for the first time, and not sure if it predicted the evangelical take over of American politics, or Orrin Hatcher watched it and spawned the evangelical take over of American politics.

Trump’s insider trading is, on its own, the worst corruption scandal in US history, with $$$ dwarfing Teapot Dome. So are Trump’s bribes-for-pardons. So is the Qatar bribe plane. So is all the Saudi money he (and Kushner) have pocketed. And the ballroom. And more. Each alone would be the worst.

I know who needs to hear this (impatient garbage people). You can lay your horn as much as you want, but I'm not going to start my left turn into the oncoming traffic lanes until the pedestrians are out of the crosswalk that I will then be going through.

Do to a nuance of my Samsung TV and not wanting to change it, The Rifleman comes on every time I turn it on. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to make the Alf channel the default.

Just insane the one good thing that came out of the first term was the vaccine, but the right wing is so enmeshed with the anti-vax crowd they can't take credit.

In the initial wave of the vaccine release, it was going to cities for emergency personnel and the like. There must have been a couple extra doses, because I had a minor and extremely intermittent building inspection component to my job and they decided to get me in that wave. I was so grateful.

5) The primary defendant in two potential prosecutions across State and Federal jurisdictions is the President of the United States. THIS is a scandal, and not for the prosecutors.

4) A U.S.Att. Goes to a bball game game then meets with a DA to coordinate prosecution across two cases and two jurisdictions. I’m not an Attorney, but this seems like standard operating procedure, and not a scandal.

Play out the supposed Jack Smith in Atlanta scandal: 1) A U.S. Attorney is in Atlanta at the same time as the Fulton Ct DA. Not a scandal. 2) A U.S.Att. is at the same bball game as a Ct DA. Not a scandal. 3) A U.S.Att. Bumps into and says hello to a Ct DA at a bball game. Not a scandal.

It absolutely does exacerbate the “I do my own research,” issue. At least in the old days of competent google searches someone might read a few “headlines” with semi-contradictory info and think for a second. With AI, “Surely it’s looking at EVERYTHING, and distilling it accurately for me.”

We’d be in a better place if instead of interviewers asking something like, “What is your opinion on the standoff between China and Taiwan and control of the South China Sea?” They just pushed three SAT level reading comprehension questions across the table and asked them to answer.

6) A cherry of casual misogyny and ignoring the existence of women’s sports. Somebody else said it, but this is what you get when you stick a supercomputer in the pockets of a bunch of rubes with poor reading comprehension and put them in charge.

1) Overconfidence in AI to do things, in this case investigative work. 2) A couple under-learned congressional staffers, who are way over confident in there ability to “do their own research” (rely on AI)

I’m going to keep going on this Jack Smith Schmitt, because we should keep a news cycle going for once and it has everything:

B-Rye @gorillaengineer.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Those chicklefucks sitting behind Senator Schmitt fed a bunch of phone records into AI and asked it for something damning. AI inaccurately spit out, “He went to a bball game in Atlanta, a City Fani Willis is in,” and they thought they were heading to the White House.

I’m also reminded of a time a while back the wacky morning sports radio guys were on about AI: “I love AI.” “Oh yeah, AI is great” “It does get sports information wrong quite a bit though.” “Yeah, sports stats are a problem.”
