Just read that Rusell will start at the back of the grid on Sunday’s F1 race in Singapore after taking a new power unit. Given how difficult it is to overtake in Singapore, it looks likely that Antonelli will increase the points gap further.

The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on Friday, Something tells me Trump won’t be winning this year. I’m sure he’ll it like normal i.e. winged and then bomb somewhere

So in response to Labour’s pledges to sort out elderly care, albeit by weakening the state pension triple lock, and having a referendum on rejoining the EU, the conservatives want to provide childcare support to the richest 3%. They really are out of touch and ideas.

So UAE are threatening to withdraw funding for various projects over the Man City ruling. Or to put it another way, let us cheat or we are taking our ball away.

Why do the media keep on referring to an energy crisis when it’s actually a fossil fuel crisis? I do appreciate it is a crisis for a lot of people and businesses. But we all know the solution is a faster transition away from fossil fuels, so let’s label it appropriately.

UK battery electric cars sales hit 28.3% of all new car sales in September, up 36.3% over September 2025. If only there was something that was driving their sales… The full breakdown can be found at www.smmt.co.uk/vehicle-data/car-reg…

Noticed yesterday that DPD have switched some of their delivery vans to electric. Does make sense as they can charge them overnight when not in use ready for the next day and save them money too.

I see Man City are going to claim at the appeal that the payments came from the Abu Dhabi government rather than the owner. Two problems with this. Why didn’t they introduce this as evidence two year’s ago? Also you can’t introduce new evidence as part of the appeal. It’s a performative statement.

“The Man City scandal is the biggest in sporting history” reads the headline. What, bigger than state sponsored drug taking in athletics, widespread drug use in professional cycling and baseball or a president that uses his influence to change a red card in a World Cup? Yes it’s big, but biggest?

While Man City have said they will appeal the independent panel’s ruling, what seems to being missed is that the new appeals panel don’t see new evidence and only review the evidence the original panel looked at, so it’s difficult to see how they’ll come up with a significantly different result.

Had a thought about Man City punishment. Effectively they’ve been financially doping. Intentional doping in sport is an automatic four year ban under WADA rules. So why not treat it the same and ban Man City from football for four years. They won’t do that but it would send a strong message.

There was an Aston Martin DB12S in Tesco’s carpark today. It was the S as it had the stacked exhausts. It’s a big thing taking up nearly the entire parking space. I’m not sure if I could afford a quarter of a million pounds on a car I’d want to leave it in Tesco car park.

So the Premier League has released details and confirmed Man City have been found guilty of all charges related to financial rules which included sham contracts and misleading accounts. Meanwhile Man City’s response (Edited 19:21 via @skeetsapp.com)
A man in a suit with raised arms in front of a crumbling building. The text reads: NOTHING TO SEE HERE MOVE ALONG.

So Wes Streeting is claiming that the woman who alerted police near RAF Fairford only has a “partial picture”. It’s an odd thing to say. Surely if the intelligence services knew about this, they wouldn’t hace alllowed the men to get so close to RAF Fairford with vans full of explosives.

Gordon @gordonsegar.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Trump on RAF Fairford arrests “We had them under view for a long time, and we got them”. Really? Why then was it a member of the public rather than security forces who spotted them acting suspiciously and called the police?

The talk after Man City guilty verdict leaked has been about the impact on other clubs. One thing I hadn’t realised, until it was mentioned this morning, is some players get bonuses for things like European qualification. That opens up a whole new avenue of legal claims.

Today Bentley will unveil their first electric car, the Torcal. That isn’t the interesting bit as it’s just another, no doubt nice, electric SUV. What is interesting is the reveal time of 7:19pm. On the 24 hour clock it reads 19:19 which is the year Bentley were founded (without the colon obviously)

CNN, MS NOW and Politico file lawsuit against Trump's White House ban. Meanwhile NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox News have suspended their pool coverage of Trump for the same reason, meaning no coverage of Trump. Time to get the popcorn in and watch the big tantrum the 80 year old baby will no doubt throw.

Reading reports of new series 12/ultra 4 Apple Watches randomly rebooting since deliveries started on Friday. From the error log reports it looks like a problem with the new nueral engine on the S11 chip, though it isn’t clear whether this is hardware or software related. Pretty poor really.

So that takes Fulham above Spurs on goal difference. How many hundreds of millions have Spurs spent but are rubbish and now in 20th? Sure it’s where you finish at the end of the season that counts, but they’ve been around the relegation zone for the last few seasons. Why are they so poor?

The whole narrative around AI is going to kill us all in the next few years is perplexing. This would require general AI with the ability to think and reason and understand the world, none of the things Large Language models (LLMs) can do. In fact there’s no route from LLMs to general AI.

If yiu do install iOS/iPadOS27 go to Settings>Appearance>Liquid Glass and then scroll the Apple Park pictures until the word Moof! appears for an interesting Easter egg (older Mac users will recognise this). Does beg the question of how someone found this Easter egg.

I do love all the panic in the last few days about AI killing everyone. There’s no route from large language models like ChatGPT to general AI, which would be the system that would kill everyone. The main reason is they have no comprehension or reasoning; they are just a clever text tool.

The weight of the iPhone duo is out and it’s 254g, which is quite chunky for a phone. To put it another way, it’s about a mars bar and a wispa bar heavier than my iPhone 15 pro.

Apple have announced the foldable iPhone, the duo. There’s three reasons why I won’t be getting one: 1. It costs at least £2k. 2. Always skip the first version of a new Apple product as the next versions will fix the flaws on the first version. 3. Did I mention it costs at least 2k?

Liverpool have signed goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from Belgian side Genk, though he’ll remain at Genk on a season long loan. Bit of an odd one but guess they are looking at Brughmans as a longterm replacement for Alisson or Mamardashvili assuming he stays.
