Saw it as a kid in theater and it was fine mainly because of Williams and my recent discovery of Walt Whitman. Watched it a few years ago with my kid and it aged badly. Williams’ latter day sins playing more annoying versions of this character hurts watching it now but it was new ground at the time.

Yes. This might be his peak, but Massey has been essentially league average this year without showing a a significant platoon split in his career. I’d go year to year with him (next year is his age 29 season) but pencil him in at 2B and focus on the outfield and pitching.

I saw it twice. First, as a little kid when it premiered on HBO and our cousins came over to watch and we were like “what the fudge was that?” In college, it played as the midnight movie and the drunk and stoned crowd spontaneously gave it the MST3K treatment and I’d never laughed harder.
