I needed one (1) stick of SODIMM DDR3L (which I got), and my grandpa sends me home with all this. before you get excited, it's mainly DDR/DDR2, with some DDR3 sprinkled in

tried to install ZimaOS on an ancient laptop that I wanted to turn into a music server, but it doesn't work because it doesn't support UEFI (yes it's that old)

53. Metroid II: Return of Samus

my review of Metroid II on Backloggd: "I feel like this game would've gone hard in 1991, but nowadays, it's fine, there's just better versions of it now (Samus Returns, AM2R).

fairly straightforward. the second half felt more barren than the first. Areas 1-3 felt like they were abundant with Metroids and items, then you get screwattack and the last few areas are like "here's a long hallway with two (2) Metroids". I like how it does ambience with the Gameboy's beeps and boops, it's funny.

I'd say check it out if you want, but otherwise, play AM2R or Samus Returns. or all three of them! "

47. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

my review of OoT on Backloggd: I've owned this game for many years but never beat it. My last playthrough 13 years ago ended on the Forest Temple, so I decided to go back and beat it now that the remake is coming. The game... is fun.

it's not The Greatest Video Game of All Time, because that's Outer Wilds, but it's pretty solid. I think it's held up pretty well aside from a few things that were of their time, like inventory/item management being a little clumsy, performance is iffy, and the Water Temple (which I didn't think was too bad, mainly had a hard time figuring out how to change the water level at first).

There's better ways to play the game now that I want to check out eventually (OoT 3D, Ship of Harkinian, and eventually the Switch 2 remake), but I enjoyed playing it through original hardware on a CRT. it was fun.

Majora's Mask will be better
