Trump is President because those who bothered to vote elected him. His power is rooted in the consent of the governed. Wishing to retain that principle is the reason he has not been thrown out. Naturally, if he messes with that right, that restraint will have been removed.

I grew up in San Francisco in a rental that was probably about 125 a month and would have sold for under 25,000. It now rents for over $7,000 a month and recently sold for $2,100,000. Just saying.

I am now at Chapter IV of A Shire Walking Party and while the paintings are magnificent, I must say that the text is not just their equal but it adds immeasurably to the experience. It is as though text and pictures together create a new language. Either could stand alone but together Wow!

My wife and I are half-way through "A Shire Walking Party". We are reading it one page at a time and not looking forward at the pictures so each one is a surprise. Without becoming effusive, just let me say this is one of the most remarkable/beautiful books I have ever read.

Keeping women down has been a central male agenda item for thousands of years. It's a little harder in peacetime. Anything the woman get is the fruit of persistent struggle by real heroes. And, as we see, can be quickly lost. God bless the brave and their woke male allies.

I used to work for Fireman's Fund. We had about 400 people in building two. (not me) When building one was hit, the manager in our offices immediately sent everyone home. One manager wanted to stay, but was told no. Common sense and putting the staff first is a way to be heroic. They all survived.

I was not surprised that many of them were corrupt, but I did not expect it to be all of them. Nor did I expect it to be without consequences from their voters. 25 years ago this would not have been possible. This country has been changed by the erosion of morality, the decay of decency. Tragic.
