meet rory lovell. greek demigod. child of apollo. archer & healer. #wbcb #pjo #pjodnd #dnd #oc

An illustration of Rory Lovell, a child of Apollo. She's looking towards the viewer with a smile, using one hand to do a rocker sign with her fingers.

I never thought life could be this complicated. And no, don’t say I should’ve seen this coming.

The name’s Rory Lovell. I’m 17 years old and the only child of Arthur Lovell. I am, however, one of many children to my other father, the Greek god Apollo — and hey, if you’re struggling to wrap that around your head, don’t worry. It’s okay. Imagine how I felt when I found out.

Honestly, it’s tough. Trust me, it wasn’t any easier before. It’d already been hard enough with just me and my mortal dad but at least we were together. We looked out for each other. Cared for one another. Gods, even told each other everything. That’s what family’s for. You keep them close, keep them in your heart, keep their memory safe.

But, that’s the thing with demigods, isn’t it? Life’s tough. The world’s a dangerous place and we have to be strong enough to withstand it. If you miss your shot, miss your chance, you’ll only fall behind and trust me, you don’t want that. I don’t need my father’s foresight to know the rest; I’ve already seen what happens.

So, take my word for it. Aim your bow, line up your shot and strike true.

And by the Gods, don’t miss.

why’d i decide to have my pjo dnd be a moralized hestia? is it because she could embody all of my favorite themes of pjo such as found family, home, and belonging? nope! fire powers 🧡🔥

thinking about this loser who gets impaled to the floor, and as soon as someone wants to heal them, they say they’re okay like they weren’t unconscious a few minutes ago

thinking abt iris jones, who had to leave her home and whose biggest fear is being lonely, hearing "you're not even where you're supposed to be" and learning that she might not actually belong with her friends. bye
