A while back I caved & bought the new Daiso Japan #Gomamon plushie! It came in the mail recently & I've discovered the plush are such low cheap quality the limbs are GLUED to the body, not sewn! To make things worse, of course mine came with one arm partially unstuck so theres a glue spot on the fur

OMG this #Gomamon acrylic stand (I guess all the mon only stands) comes with the base/packaging like this!!! I LOVE THIS! You could display it like this or as intended as a standee, so cool, 10/10 design (biased)

Mock-up/stock art of a Digimon (Gomamon) standee. The plastic around the standee and base is designed like an old paint program window. SAMPLE is written across the front of it faintly.

Throwback to a very old #Gomamon image that was wallpaper-sized way back in the 90's xD This fanart was already so widespread online that I have no idea who the original source is or if that artist's site is even online anymore, but wanted to share it anyways. What's #Patamon doing here?! :o

Rules? Yes rules; please no negativity, mon bashing is so twitter era :v Since I can't stop the internet from being horny and/or weird PLEASE USE THE LABEL SYSTEM, do not @ me with NSFW/fetish content and tag it something else like #NSFWGomamonDay, plz & thx

screenshotted text: Any rules? No negative/hateful posts about anyone or mon; we can all love Gomamon without being mean to other monsters right? While I'd like the day's celebrations to stay SFW, if you do make other content (NSFW or "SFW fetish" content) please do not directly tag it under #GomamonDay, use something different like #GomamonDayNSFW instead. Late posts are okay, I’ll likely be celebrating at least all weekend long!

~Daily Gomamon~ Gomamon Day Dec 9! ゴマモンの日 12月9 @gomamon.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

How to celebrate? tl;dr however you want :3 Just use the hashtag(s) in your applicable language #GomamonDay or #ゴマモンの日 don't need to tag me since this isn't Tumblr lol. #digimon

screenshotted text: How do I celebrate? You can draw or write about them, take some photos if you have a collection (no matter whether it’s gigantic or just one plushie), make a photo story of your own Gomamon’s adventures, livestream a digimon game (Gomamon is obtainable in Digimon Survive, Cyber Sleuth, Hacker's Memory and Next Order!) or just reblog some relevant posts~ Make a Gomamon OC (or ask an OC owner to draw theirs!) You’re free to @ or submit posts to this account anytime from now until then, or you can make your own post(s) and tag them with at least one of these hashtags below so I can find them to reblog here! #gomamonday

and *further* clarification for the extrapolators in the back, Natticus is not 11 years old (he's in his early 30s), Gomamon is not his only form, he's sapient & sentient, and he doesn't mentally regress when de-digivolved. GomaOC trio inspo+backstories: natticusthegomamon.tumblr.com/post/1485576...

The top bar has each power level with names listed underneath matching the order on the chart: Baby (Pichimon) | In-Training (Bukamon) | Rookie (Gomamon) | Champion (Ikkakumon, Depthmon, IceDevimon) | Ultimate (Zudomon, MarineDevimon) | Mega (Vikemon?, Plesiomon). Name: Natticus
Franchise: Digimon (original character, species variant)
Species: varies (usually a virus type Gomamon or MarineDevimon)
Type: Virus
Attribute: Aquatic
Known Evolutions: Evo chart attached
Age: approximately 32 in Earth years
Birthdate: Unknown, but he declared he wants to use December 9, 1991 as his "birthday" [the same date he arrived in the human world/his plushie form came home in 2013]
Likes: food, swimming, basking in the sun, winter/cold weather, eating, playing in snow
Dislikes: machines (like cars or planes), mechanical noise, hot humid weather, baths
Most Wanted For: Being adorable ;3 Eating all the popcorn during movie night, leaving the A/C on
Favourite Food: (strikethrough the word "yes") Shrimp
Personality: Sometimes cute, usually mischievous, occasionally naughty. He's gotten a handle on most concepts in the "human world" but sometimes he'll still say silly things intentionally to make me laugh. Basically, seems :3 but is actually >:3c
His early internet exploits are archived on his tumblr natticusthegomamon.tumblr.com if anyone wants to read up on him and the other mons' shenanigans.

The original post was made when Cohost was new, RIP ⚰️ I do still have my gomaOC Natticus in plush form, tho he's taken cuddle damage(ear wire ripped fabric) so no new photos with him :,< He's been my partnermon for 11 years! Also it's cool that the Pendulum v2 release was this month back in '98~

screenshotted text: Why December 9th? December 9th is the day I got a special Gomamon custom-made plushie of my own; in fact, he’ll be 9 years old this year! His name is Natticus, and you can follow his cohost once he decides which username to use (Natticus or NatticusTheGomamon on cohost) or check out his old tumblr archive @natticusthegomamon. He was made by magnastorm on DeviantArt and is one of the most popular “Gomamon” art submissions there! The date also correlates to the same month Gomamon was first revealed in the Digimon Pendulum Version 2 (Deep Savers) in December 1998.

I've realized despite my best efforts to spread the goma-ppreciation, unfortunately no one cares because I don't make easily consumable content :v I've dropped my engagement with the "fandom" as well. This is the one thing I still like to do, even if it's only for myself #GomamonDay #ゴマモンの日 #digimon

screenshotted text: Why Gomamon? Many years ago, along with Patamon and countless virus types, he was established as one of my favourite digimon. I quickly got tired of the Adventure anime and am mostly familiar with them through the old PS1 games. Over a decade ago I decided to begin collecting digimon merchandise, with a main focus on Gomamon and Patamon. Over the years more recently, they appear to me as a sort of embodiment of positivity and happiness, and have helped me get through a lot of negative or otherwise not-so-great times in my life. So for me personally I think having one day to celebrate them would be great to show others how awesome this underappreciated digimon is!

134

~Daily Gomamon~ Gomamon Day Dec 9! ゴマモンの日 12月9 @gomamon.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

I originally established #GomamonDay in 2017 & wrote a small FAQ about it back then during my Tumbling days. #ゴマモンの日 #digimon Here's a thread with the updated version with some additional commentary:

screenshotted text: Why a digimon? I’ve seen a few days for celebrating other digimon (Flamedramon, Renamon), as well as days to celebrate pokemon (such as 7/28 as Popplio Day), and figured it would be nice to celebrate a specific digimon species; not necessarily “Jo’s Gomamon”, although that is the one that most digimon fans are familiar with.
