I think the few times I've actually appreciated a recomp over emu was when they did something that emulation could not, like ease of modding. Or in the case of Phantom Dust's rerelease, bringing a borderline forgotten game back from the dead (still shocked that was a recomp).

In regard to FurAffinity being at risk due to censorship: Furries are now political targets. We are getting namedropped at high levels of government. They know that we are a large, influential, largely queer, community. Fighting for the spaces owned by our community is incredibly important

Honestly, after such a long and costly development time on ep 6, if we can't get our support up to at least $15k a month on patreon we're gonna have to switch to animatic format with the fights animated inbetween. I can't afford an ep like that again lol.

I oddly miss it all now! There were friends I made on there that I don't think I'd have ever met otherwise, and likewise we butted heads with rivals guilds to do party quests (since only one party was allowed at any given time) and the like. It was annoying, but it made memories I cherish.

Playing Maplestory on private servers like Mapleroyals I find that it doesn't hit *quite* the same as it used to back then, and most of it has to do with the lack of people to group up with (compared to how it used to be). You don't get told to CC as often anymore and while I hated it then...

Every now and then I run into this animation again and memories just flood back. Grinding for that one maple staff, making to El Nath (and dying), getting trapped in Sleepywood, etc... it really was the community that made that game back then. The solo focus kinda killed that some, I think...

I had gotten one after it's life span (sometime in like 2019) and lemme tell you... forever in agony because the thing uses only Sony brand SD cards made for it. Finding one of those was a nightmare at the time, unsure if better now or not though

Today I found a quiet place near the water and relaxed for a while... I never fully realize how much being near the water feels like home until I'm near it once more, listening to the waves and seagulls... It's a lovely experience.
