Brain waves form classic bands linked to synchrony and cognition, but can we define them objectively? Power-based methods are useful yet sensitive to the aperiodic background and often recover alpha (sometimes beta). Rhythmicity reveals a wider set of bands, and does so universally. Open toolbox:
