He's making it very plain. And I think many Americans are poised to believe him.

Combined with the fact that Black and brown communities are often at higher risk for asthma due to particulate matter and air emissions, all of this feels like trying to blame those at risk instead of those responsible. #EnvironmentalJustice #Asthma #Environmentalism #ClimateChange

Honorable Mention: Parallel (2024) - Also starring Danielle Deadwyler, I'll let you check this one out yourself! But beware it gets *loopy* wink wink. I didn't put it on the list because while I enjoyed it, it felt like it would have been a better TV show!

9. Don't Let Go (2019) Featuring Storm Reid, Don't Let Go follows a homicide detective who receives an impossible phone call that will lead him on a mission to save the life of that very same caller. A sleeper hit.

Here's the comment (or at least a portion of it): "...the thematic stuff they engage in and the historic weight it has feels so ill thought out. Hollow traumatic markers... There's no interrogation, no thought put into it."

A screenshot of a comment made by Brandon Streussnig dated May 27, 2025, about the move Bring Her Back. The comment says, "I’m going to sound like such a sensitive asshole but between Talk to Me and Bring Her Back, I don’t think the Philippous are at all equipped to deal with the ways in which they depict acts of violence against people of color by ~well meaning~ white people. I don’t know that I’m the guy to dissect this but the thematic stuff they engage in and the historic weight it has feels so ill thought out. Hollow traumatic markers. It’s embarrassing. They’re exploring extremely thorny shit in their work which, on the surface, seems compelling. But that’s all it is. Superficial. There’s no interrogation, no thought put into it."

A photo you'd use as an album cover

A picture of Ryan in a photo studio wearing a black and purple graduation gown that is open, revealing a yellow suit on the inside. He is facing toward the camera, and looking downward at a child (who is wearing a blue shirt and brown shorts) that is holding onto his left leg. Ryan has his hand over the child's head, and in his other arm is holding several books.
