Trump tells the Democrat leader of the Senate, Chuck Schumer, to "go to hell", and nobody really bats an eyelid. This is how far gone American politics is, now. Schumer had offered to approve Trump nominees, including Ambassadors, if Trump released Congress-approved spending. Trump declined.

Musk owns a huge data centre near the under-privileged Boxtown, Memphis. The centre runs his AI venture, which demands power in excess of what utilities can provide. So it uses 35 unlicenced huge mobile generators which emit methane into an already polluted atmosphere. Musk says nothing about this.

I'm reading Luke Harding's book "Invasion", about the war in Ukraine. The book quotes persecuted Russian opposition activist Vladimir Kara-Murza as stating that, internal oppression inevitably leads to external aggression. He was talking about Putin's Russia - but this could also be about Trump.
