I mean, I like the original. It looks and sounds great - but I don't think you're ever going to see it on anyone's Top NES games. It's fine. But whenever someone starts saying stuff like the original was vastly better and 2 is a disaster - that's more snobbery than sense.

You'd be amazed how good things can look on older stuff (well, graphics cards). Something from years ago can still run Space Marine 2 at 1080p at 60fps. Sure, it isn't 240fps at 4K but I'd argue no one needs that. Things normally run bad when the people making it can't be arsed to optimise it.

It was ready dead. They even made a thing so it would work with PCs - which seemed like an apology to those who purchased one. It's a shame as I really enjoyed PSVR, but PSVR2 was just an utter waste.

Next on the list is Cyber Shadow, which I apparently got pretty far in years ago but didn't finish for some reason. Not sure why as it's very very good. Very Ninja Gaiden-like but with a bit of optional backtracking to get health upgrades etc as you gain new abilities. #blutoid #cybershadow

It's like the game wasn't built around its core mechanic. It isn't a bad game (100% worth £4) but it almost feels frustrating how it gets in its own way to stop itself being something exceptional. I highly doubt we'll see a sequel but it really feels like a "the sequel will be great" kinda game.

Game would have worked better as a simple 10 stage affair as the talking to townspeople and super duper thin-metroidvania-ness just constantly stops the satisfying Gunbrella-ness. It's such a good mechanic and it's perfectly executed but the game barely seems to let you use it.

Finished Gunbrella. I liked it. But, if there's ever been a game where the execution hasn't lived up to the concept this is that game. Like it flows beautifully. The gunning and umbrella-ing feels super satisfying but the game doesn't let you do enough of it. #blutoid #gunbrella

But anyway, got a bit further past that but it's late (like 4:30am - working lates is not fun for the sleep pattern) so have had to call it a night. So far: well worth £2.99. I do wish there was more Gunbrella-ing than talking mind. Game is fun when it actually lets you play it and shoot things.

The Gunbrella demo was quite long and, I guess I should have expected it, but man - not having the save transfer to the full game meant I've had to go through the start of the game again, which obviously isn't very exciting second time round so soon. #blutoid #gunbrella

I can't say I loved any of the newer ones, but they were enjoyable enough I was at least expecting to like Burn. Ah well. At least the review scores make sense with Burn, unlike Obsession which got rave reviews but it probably as good/bad as Burn.

Finished Crypt Custodian 100%. Loved it. Picked up Celeste because it was on offer for £4. On Chapter 7 (I think?). I thought after getting more into hard platformers (DK Tropical Freeze) I'd like it a lot more than what I currently do. I guess 'twitch* platformers' still aren't really my thing.
