laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 30/06/2026Brokeback Mountain (2005, Lee) end of the month and thus end of the thread. i figured why the hell not watch THE gay cowboy movie? hadn't seen it anyways. i'm pretty pleased with Gyllenhaal and Ledger's performances, seeing as i happen to kiss men too. happy pride! 000 0
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 29/06/202612 Angry Men (1957, Lumet) every new "type of guy" bit is born from this group of 12 Men, this film contains every man that has ever been and ever will be jokes aside, this is genuinely one of the best movies ever made 120 2
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 28/06/2026Greener Grass (2019, Luebbe & DeBoer) genuine fever dream. i felt nauseous and uncomfortable at times and it goes for that feeling on purpose. has that mid-budget adult swim sketch vibe to it. loved the humor 120 2
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 28/06/2026Targets (1968, Bogdanovich) this guy just lowkey kills people cause he's bored like nothing fucking happens in this movie why does this have a 4.0 on letterboxd (i forgot to make the post before it turned midnight again!!!! fuuuuck!!) 110 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 26/06/2026Life Is Cheap… But Toilet Paper Is Expensive (1989, Wang) Felt like rewatching a favourite today Multiple Character vignettes are interwoven through the plot as our unnamed protagonist explores Hong Kong, and contains i think is the longest running chase scene ever put to film at 20 minutes (?!) 100 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 26/06/2026Network (1976, Lumet) I'M MAD AS HELL AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! insane that so much of this film still holds true today. a critical hit in terms of mocking the establishment, the media and every corporation and form of business ever. 110 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 24/06/2026Synecdoche, New York (2008, Kaufman) "The End is Built into the Beginning" i feel this harbors a great, deep and unknowable secret. one you'll never know because you don't know yourself, nor anyone, nor anyone else. one day you'll find an idea so enticing you'll obsess over it for the rest of your- 110 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 23/06/2026Shin Kamen Rider (2023, Anno) found myself bored through most of the film, it does cool things sometimes, but simply wasn't entertaining to me because i dont really enjoy tokusatsu. the parts where it embraces its 70's roots by reusing soundtracks and sound effects are the best bits in my opinion 110 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 22/06/2026Project Hail Mary (2026, Lord & Miller) space is fuckin' scary, man 240 4
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 21/06/2026Mickey and Nicky (1976, May) the Philly equivalent of Kane and Lynch, but in the 70's. pretty good, although its hard not to see Peter Falk as anything other than Columbo, i'm still up for whatever he's in. 120 2
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 20/06/2026Videodrome (1983, Cronenberg) Death to Videodrome! Long live the new flesh! I had already seen this a long long time ago, but i figured this 35mm Open Matte version was worth a watch. many thanks to the Chungking Archive and @rarefilmm.bsky.social :) 1141 14
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 19/06/2026The Man From Earth: Holocene (2017, Schenkman) I saw the first film about a year ago and i really enjoyed it. Holocene is at least an honest attempt at creating a sequel, and fails completely. I appreciate some of the returning actors after a decade, but this university student plot is NOT it. 100 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 18/06/2026The Usual Suspects (1995, Singer) GIMME THE FUCKIN' KEYS YOU COCKSUCKA MUTHAFUCKAAA that ending! holy shit! it was him! 100 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 17/06/2026my buddy @shpeck.neocities.org, another friend and i spent about 3 days setting up a bit before we were able to pull it off on our new server, completely worth it. 152 5
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 17/06/2026Hana-Bi (1997, Kitano) A beautiful story about a detective and his wife. Kitano at arguably his best, and Hisaishi's score knocks it out of the park once more. All in all a Perfect Film. I love this man. 111 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 16/06/2026Primer (2004, Carruth) Two guys in shirts and ties just completely fucking up timeline. i'm actually still watching this as i post, but i'm loving it already 110 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 15/06/2026Fight Club (1999, Fincher) honestly just rewatching this because a friend of mine told me he had never seen it. tyler is literally me or whatever the kids say these days 100 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 14/06/2026Days, Months, Years and Nothing Else (2024, Hüseynov) i almost forgot to watch one today and ended up not having time for a full length one before the day ended, so instead i saw an experimental short film 100 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 13/06/2026Playtime (1967, Tati) "It’s like a double-page spread of Where's Waldo? but everyone is Waldo." is about the best way the boxd review could put it. What an absolutely wonderful movie. There is so much beauty to be found in the mundane. 110 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 12/06/2026Crime Wave (1985, Paizs) The one i actually wanted to see yesterday, insane that its the same title and same year, anyways. way more high concept than the simple story Raimi told in his one. A story within stories of a struggling canadian writer trying to make it big 110 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 11/06/2026Crimewave (1985, Raimi) NOT the movie i intended to watch today. Raimi back on his bullshit in this, but oh hey look Bruce Campbell! 100 1
laura @godheadheavyindustries.life · 10/06/2026Paris, Texas (1984, Wenders) The dust has come to stay. A true movie for the soul. One that i didn't just want, but *needed* to hear. 110 1
