made some rapid testing tools for checking localization per screen. key elements here is that loc strings are looked up every frame and rendered based on the language. buttons and button gaps have dynamic sizing requirements depending on the content of the layout. #gamedev #indiedev

ran the gob mining prototype for 12 hours, 10 gobs did a pretty good job and no crashes! the chunking system also seems to be quite efficient. #gamedev #programming

continuing my break with a little prototype. i wanted to try to make an infinitely scalable tilemap that has pathfinders. lil gobs mine for gold and return it to the storage in the middle. would love to see some carts, or buildable storage. and of course bombs. #gamedev #programming

i decided to go with hot asset loading for data files. structs can be exported to plain text style files and then are reimported and polled for file changes at runtime. no need to recompile. #gamedev #c #programming
