Amazing game, did it this year. It really is a puzzle game at heart when it comes to gameplay: exploration, dungeons, enemies, it’s all puzzles. And it has such lovable characters. My highlight of the year. Thanks for the recommendation earlier, it was sitting in my wishlist for years and I forgot

Since I started following you on Bluesky I added about 300 games to my wishlist. At this point even the “patient” part of gaming is saturated. I have more than a dozen of games from that list, all very positive or more, -80 to -90% just this week. Now to find the time…

Yeah years ago I remember seeing that pattern a lot: - dev releases local multiplayer - community cries for online - dev answers it won’t work with latency - community insists - dev caves and spends months refactoring and implementing - community complains about lag - “can’t find a lobby”

It’s fine, just took it as an excuse to share my recent experience. McMillen’s art and general lore is a bit much for me. Turns out I stomached it better 10 years ago. So I really appreciated finding out a total reskin. The flies are cute little drones now :D

Consolation is that oddballs original still kinda works? At least I seem to remember it did on Win10. But hey if you do find a modern one, would be great. Crazy to think there was a time big game boxes with desktop companions were front and center in shops (Petz series mostly, in different versions)

It’s a usual failure in those systems. If you liked the game you can like one of many other positive reviews. If you didn’t, you can like the one negative review that you see. So that one negative gets more “likes” than the diluted positive ones, and the system shows it more, amplifying the problem

Gnoupi @gnoupi.bsky.social · 30/04/2026
Wisdom is finding a few reviewers with similar tastes to yours, at least for some genres, and blissfully enjoy tailored recommendations

Hm, didn’t know about this game but I see how it can go wrong. Streamers (and players) swarming to “backrooms” type of liminal space with mostly walking around, not expecting it’s actually a puzzle game set in a liminal space. Unfortunate really

I see the point. This is closer to asking a junior colleague with all recent knowledge but no implementation experience to do a task. Often he will get the job done and find ways you didn’t think of, but most of the time you have to supervise it for stupid mistakes.

To be fair it all relies on a system that is trained on human language in order to produce human-like content. It makes sense to formulate queries as you would to another human. And positive queries are more likely to produce positive content with humans, so it makes sense in this context as well

That’s a good point indeed. After we can potentially argue that they did get a fair amount of enjoyable time out of it, if the problem is a change of gameplay midway through. But still, reviews like “this game is a miserable experience” with 149 hours are something weird

Gnoupi @gnoupi.bsky.social · 04/01/2026

So gog and “the cyberpunk creators” were sister firms, technically. Now what happens is one of the original founders of CDP is going to take gog independently from CDP

Gnoupi @gnoupi.bsky.social · 29/12/2025
I see the article and lot of comments are confusing CDP and CDP:R. CDProjekt is a Polish publisher created in 1994. Mostly they specialised in bringing pc games on the Polish market, providing translation by themselves when it would be missing. CDP created gog and CDP:Red.
