And this was on top of a morning wander around the Otter estuary, which had already yielded warblers, kingfisher, sparrowhawk, stonechat, and all manner of other sightings.

Quite the first twitch of the year! Visited old haunts in Topsham and Exminster. Two lifers: scaup and bar-headed goose (though I think latter is escapee); second ever dowitcher. Plus rail, snipe, pintail, Brents, avocet, and much more! 2025 is off to a good start 😁 #DevonBirding #DevonBirds
