It's been a minute, but wanted to log back in to test the move to #EuroSky and to celebrate my first ever British stag beetle! #UKInsects

A large, black beetle (female European stag beetle) on the gnarled bark of a tree trunk.

Quite the first twitch of the year! Visited old haunts in Topsham and Exminster. Two lifers: scaup and bar-headed goose (though I think latter is escapee); second ever dowitcher. Plus rail, snipe, pintail, Brents, avocet, and much more! 2025 is off to a good start 😁 #DevonBirding #DevonBirds

Bar-headed goose in a field, surrounded by Canada geese.

A long-billed dowitcher walking through thick mud, with a godwit amongst reed stubble behind.

Scaup swimming across a large pond in the sun, with teal around.

Water rail walking across a partially frozen inlet between reed beds.
