Wait until he hears about Russia, where the results arrive even BEFORE people have voted. That’s what you can call efficient!

No you are paying for 30+ years of reduction of resilience in supply chains that can’t handle a drop in supply (covid) and a surge in demand. There are three producers of RAM chips worldwide and one company that can build the lithography machines

Meanwhile in Northern Europe, kWh prices are negative thanks to surplus of renewables…

Mutual experience/tech sharing with Ukraine, along with funding for domestic companies perhaps? What I meant is just that I don’t think the western countries should build large stockpiles of drones, because they become obsolete before you blink. Not suggesting they sit back and relax 🙂

As opposed to building large stockpiles of similar drones in western countries where they will just become obsolete or being donated to Ukraine while costing much more to build

TBH, I don’t really know how impressive those numbers are, to a layman it looks similar to what others build. What I meant is maybe mass production of drones is best done locally as the production capacity is already there, they have scaled up already and you get more air defense per dollar.

Most western countries develop things like these. But mass producing and fielding something that will be obsolete in 3 months doesn’t really make sense. Maybe better to support the Ukrainian economy by using the financial support buying from local companies? Probably more drones per dollar too

The drone is probably way cheaper than the part that goes boom

Depreciation is usually one of the highest costs of owning a car, so lower depreciation is better for the consumer, or what do I miss?

Because there is correlation in the data? Some employers remove names from CVs even for human reviewers, that’s the only way to mitigate any bias

Good thing they go through Swedish and Danish territorial waters and fascists are not close to power in any of those countries, so restoration is unlikely to be allowed

Lol. The rest of the world moved from burning gas to heat pumps 20 years ago. It’s not the 1960s East Germany anymore

This could so easily have been built into iOS APIs, you could consent to giving the app a yes/no on the claim that you are over X years old. The app gets a true/false. Now people are being taught to scan their id card with random online services

Cool, but the ID4 is probably around 11kWh/100 km with AC off at those speeds, on normal roads. And then you can swap tires without picking the car apart. Diminishing returned after some limit, I guess

Political statements aside, could you even find a decent American car anymore? Even ignoring Musk, Tesla has stopped innovating for the last 5 years, and the rest are just hopelessly behind

gmurf.bsky.social @gmurf.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
Use your vote as a middle finger to the ”establishment”. That worked really well for the Americans, didn’t it?

Europeans just don’t want the European EVs as the lawmakers hoped. They want the tech level and prices of the Chinese ones. No tariff in the world will change this. Stepping up and meeting the competition will.

Let the two regimes consume one another. Hopefully the peoples of both countries will rise and throw out their corrupt leaders. In the meantime high oil prices are good for the planet. Always something
