Our environmental scientist daughter was part of a group trying to warn about farmed salmon several years ago. Knowing a bit about how bad it is, is enough for us to never touch farmed salmon.

I have a couple of random questions. According to Wikipedia canadian Thanksgiving wasn’t official until 1879 although it has a longer history. Will Barry have a T/Ging day or harvest festival type thing like the Brits. Also, I assume without any knowledge he’s tee total. Did he drink alcohol ?

Why was she allowed to shout over you? You should have been able to make your argument, while she made notes of her counter arguments to use when her turn to speak. All she did was look combative and failing to make a coherent argument.

Anne Carson, the new Nobel Laureate in literature, has Icelandic citizenship. We as a nation will become absolutely insufferable about now having TWO Nobel winning writers. Just imagine all the per capita calculations we can drum up with this one!

Not a fan of marmite? It’s a love it or hate it thing. We just brought a massive jar home, but not sure I’d put it in spaghetti.

We’re shouting into the abyss trying to remind people about Covid being likely oncogenic. When I reminded someone recently Covid is airborne when they demanded to know why I was masked, I got a lecture on washing hands. Yes, it’s important but Covid is still airborne.

I’ve stopped giving the guardian money because of the increasingly crap reporting. ‘Lifestyle choices’ in this day and age? Bollocks.

I know it’s a stretch, the best I came up with for his stomach issues was maybe IBS ( irritable bowel syndrome) as he’s too well and lived too long for any of the other things I know about.

The sun was going down near Reykjavik yesterday and not sure if to the side it’s a rainbow or the start of northern lights. Regardless it was a cool sight.

Big shout out to this airline ( that doesn’t have a Bluesky acct) for failing to load 300 plus passenger bags on its flight 99 back to Toronto yesterday. We’re out three cases.

I’m devastated, I was hoping the pig’s bid for freedom would be successful, I was getting ready to name him/her. Now, it’s going to be fattened up to eat! I really need to stop reading these diary entries in the present tense.

Here’s a thought, direct access to med school at 18 like the UK. Increase med school places and offer free tuition and living bursaries for students willing to do five years in rural location. With proper support , travel and accommodation and guaranteed work from home for spouses if needed.

Cool cool. But while you're at it, make them high speed VIA trains, and lay down some high speed rail across the country.
