Have to say the results look pretty spectacular. The sunlight is fading, the temperature and leaves dropping. Not great conditions for staining with oil. The rest of this project will have to wait until Spring. 🙁

Second coat of decking oil on the rails: gorgeous. White primer on the posts: a struggle. It took 4 hours to get this much primed. Lesson learned: use a stiff bristle paint brush to apply a fast-drying alkyd primer. Soft bristles just soak it up and you get nowhere.

The McKinley National Memorial in Canton, Ohio. Constructed in 1907, its site was designed in the shape of a sword, with a reflecting pool forming its blade. In the 1950s, due to maintenance issues, the pool was filled in and replaced with a lawn.

I'm in a church for a memorial service for my sister-in-law. A Lutheran church. This is the banner behind the altar. It reminds me of the people that I love and support.
