Even on the M3 re-entering London, it was glorious. Striated I sez to him. Maybe the wrong word?

The Supreme Court today said the current president had the unilateral authority to tear down the East Wing of the White House and build a monstrous ballroom. That means the next president will have the unilateral authority to rebuild the East Wing and tear down the monstrous ballroom.

I voted, from several addresses, for Lena Jaeger, Frank Dobson and Keir Starmer. I’m still here. Hope to be as fortunate in the next candidate but thanks to them all.

It's not often you can pinpoint real, positive change a journalist has caused. But as Turkmeni sources state, @dpcarrington.bsky.social's persistent and probing coverage of this issue has been critical to a change of policy, with massive implications. Big congrats www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Fascinating how the natural world, albeit a minuscule sample, dealt with the demi semi eclipse. Cattle, hedgebirds, yardbirds. All changed patterns of behaviour for around 90 minutes and then flicked a switch back to business as (nearly) usual. Reason to be cheerful in apocalyptic times ….?

The hotel my great-grandfather once owned, and the family camp he built, won’t survive if they exist only in the past

My day began with a stout wood pigeon indoors, who then panicked. Online I learned I must keep the space dark so it is drawn to the light. Impossible. Meanwhile it lay low, relieved itself and then departed. What an opener to the England match day.
