New one on me. I googled it. Does it look like this? It's BIG! Not exactly an urban runaround.

Ooooh, what did you get? Ferrari maybe 🤔🤭

It's utterly appalling. What that man did was awful, but it does not justify this. 😡

It's horrifying. What he did was awful certainly, but doesn't justify this. 😡

Very nice outfit. I hope the Afternoon Tea lived up to it?

120

Oh dear - as in totally unfixable & needs replacing? 😱

GMBanks @gmbanks.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Was it 'Colin From Accounts' though?

I hope you said 'big stretch' as well? 😉

The flower market is (partly at least) in the Cours Saleya I think. You're right about the Quai - it's the continuation of the Promenade - again I think!!

Archway out from (near) Cours Saleya to the Promenade des Anglais. Lovely part of the world.

Gawd, it was awful 😱

000

Compared to some of them, I thought that wasn't too bad!

That is a good idea. Mine is upstairs in what used to be an airing cupboard - over the immersion heater tank! Latter is handy in case the boiler ever fails so I'd have hot water, otherwise I don't use it.

GMBanks @gmbanks.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

My boiler is a Worchester Bosch (gas) - bigger than that though. Still only using it to heat water, but I'm sure the central heating will need to go back on soon enough!

I'm only a couple of books into this series & I'm really enjoying it.

Oh good. I have a great fondness for books set in Venice even though I've only been there once (41 years ago!!). I enjoy books set there by @davidhewson.com & @pgjonesvenice.bsky.social too.

I love these shows. I take great pleasure in travelling vicariously with the likes of Sandi Toksvig, Michael Portillo, Alice Roberts and Eva Longoria among others. It's especially nice if they visit places I've been & I can reignite fond memories.

000

@dubcitycouncil.bsky.social DCC replaced a large 'compactor' bin in Palmerston Park with this much smaller one - and this is the result. Not excusing those that left the rubbish, but a larger bin would probably resolve the issue!

020

@gregorydowling.bsky.social I am reading & really enjoying Ascension. I see on Amazon that there is/was a second book in this series - a number of years ago. Will it be reissued as an ebook any time soon?

130

No doubt he nodded indicating full understanding? 🤔

Morning Womble. I hope you are fully recovered? This week I read The Teacup Dragon Sanctuary by Jessica Thorne - a charming romantasy. Now reading Ascension by Gregory Dowling - an intriguing historical murder mystery set in Venice in 1749.

Hopefully it'll start to improve soon.

The Crossing Places is the start of a great series by Elly Griffiths (the Ruth Galloway series). I've read all of them. I really enjoy Alice Roberts on tv, so must consider her book.

Must be so painful for him. Poor pet.

GMBanks @gmbanks.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

I loved Past Times. I have a great collection of their Christmas mugs.

030

It was the same here. I got in from a walk with Jess (dog) with about 5 mins to spare before the heavens opened.

Awww, that's gorgeous ❤️

111

Oh excellent. I hope he's considerably better?

I'm watching it week by week as we don't have iPlayer here. I have read the book, so I know the story. I presume Corfu was cheaper to film in than the Riviera!

000

OMG! A recipe for armageddon 😱

000

How very condescending! Everyone has particular interests. I've wandered through parts of some big & well known museums, past exhibits that were of little or no interest TO ME, but knowing they were of interest to someone else.

That's fair enough. Every dog is different, but I've been lucky that none of mine - so far - has had any reactions to what they've been fed.

Is this food you can't buy in a shop? I'm lucky that Jess eats any brand (wet & dry), so I can just pick up her food in my local supermarket.

100

Oh very nice. Where are you? (not that I'm jealous at all 🙄)

000

Ah, he'll forgive you.......eventually! 🙄🤭

GMBanks @gmbanks.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I got mine last week - and my covid booster.

000

GMBanks @gmbanks.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

You are far from the first cat owner to be caught out like this! 🙄

020

GMBanks @gmbanks.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I'm reading it at the moment and really enjoying it. It's charming and interesting.

012

GMBanks @gmbanks.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I'm only seeing this now - so much later. I am so sorry. I hope you're doing ok?

I was gripped from the first book. His 'China' series and 'Enzo' series are very good too.

020

I love his books. The Lewis Trilogy is masterful writing. I've read about 20 of his books & there are a few I haven't got to yet.

Considering some of the things they come up with, you may not be far off!

Oh no, that's so sad. I love his books. The Hebrides series in particular is masterful storytelling.

000

I have one of those dogs! Open back door when I'm putting stuff in bin, dog remains on 'her' chair. Make coffee, settle on sofa, start watching something on tv....dog gets out of chair & walks to the door 🙄🐕
