Today only, Starship's Mage is on sale in the USA and Canada for $1.49 mybook.to/StarshipsMag... Damien Montgomery has the skill and the magical gift to be a Jump Mage, but not the connections. The choice he makes to get onto a starship anyway will lead him to strange and dangerous places...

A young-looking man stands in front of a. Star scape. He wears a black turtleneck and a gold medallion. Magical energy flows from his hands, rising up to surround a starship above his head.

Welp, this isn't as many dice sets as I thought I was ordering (126 pcs was apparently the total number of dice) but honestly, 18 random dice sets is probably a good place to start with giving them out at Halloween!
Black and purple box labelled "Surprise Box" and stated to hold 18 sets of 7 dice each.

Which was listed on Ali express as having 126 pieces... Which is, I suppose, correct...

“So be it,” she murmured. “It’s a damn shame, you know, when people can’t see past the tip of their own nose.”
She cut the channel and opened a link to the bridge in the same motion.
“Captain Perry.”
“Amiral?”
“Engage the enemy.”

And as a sign of how well I keep track of things... Spirit Blade is on sale in Australia for the month of August! www.amazon.com.au/Spirit-Blade...
A tall man dressed in black athletic clothes runs into a snow-covered street, away from a burning apartment building behind him.
He is holding a glitchy-seeming sword made of light in one hand and has a cat supported in the other.
The cat is upright, surveying the area.

The title is "Hot Guy Rescues Cat"
The tag line is "Yes, both the cat and the sword are magic."

This is a joke cover, the actual title is Spirit Blade and its an urban fantasy novel by Glynn Stewart that a lot of people seem to have really loved!

Our new dining room chairs appear to have passed inspection. Freya preferred the boxes they came in, because a four foot tall stack with a large flat surface is apparently her nirvana. This information has been noted down for cat furniture plans.

I joke about it, but this is probably the picture I should take to the barber for what I want my hair to look like (sans crown, that's a check my ego can't cash) Except I had such bad luck getting hair cuts that I gave up and my hair is easily twice this long now...

The wall of gray has transformed... Into a more complex gray?
Photo of several dozen Warhammer 40K miniatures on a table. All have been assembled but none have even a scrap of paint. Photo of the same dozens of miniatures on a ratty repeatedly black-painted piece of cardboard outside

They have been prime black and given a light gray "zenithal highlight" - meaning the gray was sprayed from the supposed sun direction to add light angles to the final model.

So... While now covered in paint, they are still gray.

They usually send an email before they escalate to actually putting warnings on pages, I think. I'm in my various pages often enough that I often see the report exists before they send the note though. It's at the top of the bookshelf page.
Image of the top inch or so of the KDP bookshelf dashboard.

The header has Bookshelf, Reports, Community and Marketing as links.

Just beneath that is a warning banner with "View all open eBook quality issues"

(It still exists on mine because sometimes something I've corrected just hangs out in review for a few months :P)

This took way too long to find. All it takes is a unanimous vote, right? xkcd.com/498/
An xkcd comic. Black Hat is sitting in a meeting of a Congress.
The head of the committee says:
"We were convened here to review your nomination for the position of Internet Secretary.
" However, on review of your qualifications, we've decided to sentence you to death.
"An unorthodox move, sure. But the vote was unanimous."

Went to the Hangar Museum in Calgary yesterday, as it was supposed to be the day their WWII Lancaster bomber was open for visitors to go inside. Sadly, there was a potential safety issue and they correctly closed it Amazing museum though - and yikes is the Lancaster huge.
Shot of the Avro Lancaster from the front. It is an immense four engine plane.
On the left, utterly dwarfed, is a Cessna crop sprayer, a more ordinary-sized single person plane.
In the middle, you can see the cockpit and nose turret, with pinup art and the same of the bomber (Lady Orchid. Note that this is *not* Lady Orchid, but is painted in her livery as Lady Orchid is lost)
To the right you can clearly see one of her wing wheels, which is bigger than a human. The Lancaster's bomb bay, taken from underneath. It is open and seems to extend for ages.
The racks that would have held bombs are clearly visible.

Skadi realized I was following her around (singing a silly song, because she'd been squeaking) and rolled over on her back for belly rubs. Apparently she wasn't trying to lead me anywhere.
Skadi with her face in the camera accepting cheek skritches.

Behind my hand, you can see where she was shaved for her blood sugar monitor.

I generally think of Skadi as our shorter haired cat, but that patch definitely shows why she produces much more fur than Freya when brushed.

I shuffled my schedule. Wrote the book. Got an amazing cover from @looceyloo.bsky.social and got peer-pressured into a ridiculous joke by @skyladawn.ca And then it, so far as I can tell, went viral here on Bluesky. I was hoping for 4,500 30-day sales (what my last SF book got) I sold 9,000.

Sci Fi terrain and fantasy vampires all primed and ready to go. (This has a non zero chance of being the final state of most of the terrain, lol)

Apparently I have explicit "piss off the reader" scenes in my book and am somehow not open about the setting of my urban fantasy. Who knew?!

Trans BS included: avoid

I don’t mind low key gay and lesbian characters; people are people.

I object to overt “trans positive” propaganda in my fiction. It totally throws me back into current politics, which I also don’t want in my fiction.

Glynn: authors like Melissa Scott are open about the settings of their novels. Your novels in the past have been SF and fantasy.

Whether I’ve just hit your one “p*ss off the reader” scene or whether there’s more in the rest of the book I’ll never find out. Bye.

Email screenshot:

And before this starts sounding like one of those polished “Hello Author I Represent a Highly Prestigious Book Growth Network” messages that appear in inboxes like they pay rent there… relax 😂

I’m not doing that.

I only reach out when I actually read into a book and think:
“Yeah… this deserves more attention than it’s probably getting right now.”

I’m part of a private community with 1000+ active readers who genuinely enjoy discovering books, reacting like emotionally compromised gremlins, and leaving real Amazon and Goodreads reviews. No pressure, no forced anything. Just readers who actually read.
