Why did I just spend all night playing Genshin Impact, there are so many other games I could be playing (And by “playing” I mean I sat through two hours of cutscenes, interspersed with some jogging)

Part of me wants to replay Metroid Dread, but another part of me is absolutely drea- not looking forward to replaying that one specific EMMI part. You know. That one.

I think it’s cool when people like things. I think it’s considerably less cool when people, unprompted, divebomb into comments to go “here are all the reasons I don’t think you should like that thing” Just scroll past, little bro

It feels like a massive parenting win that after putting kiddo to bed tonight and leaving the room, he did not immediately climb back out of bed and start banging on the door Little victories, wherever we can get ’em

Every day this week I spend all day going “I’m gonna play so much Fire Emblem tonight 🔥” Then the evening comes and I get maybe another hour into 2nd Chapter instead, and go to sleep 😴

When I joined Bluesky (or more accurately, when I decided to start using it) I followed a bunch of art and gaming starter packs. I need to go through my following list and find all the dead/inactive accounts… But that sounds like work 🙃

Get up and put the trash on the curb. Get up and put the trash on the curb. Get up and put the trash on the curb. You just got a toddler to stay in bed, you’re unstoppable, you can do anything. Get up and put the trash on the curb.

*picking up new phone preorder* Salesperson, just trying to fill time: “So what are you looking forward to about the new phone?” Me, an idiot: “U-uhh… better… phone stuff” We eventually landed on the camera, which gave them plenty to riff about. Why am I like this 🥲

I very excitedly popped in Fire Emblem once the kiddo was asleep, and didn’t even make it through the prologue before I, too, needed to sleep. Adulting 🥲

Alright, 240 of the FF XIV relic grind thingies collected. 60 more shouldn’t be too bad… right…? (Using roulettes, and realizing how many trials and raids I’ve completely forgotten 😅)

This has been a lot of fun, and helped me knock out a few things I’ve either never fully finished, or wanted to get to for ages. (And, hey, I made a few buddies in the process!)

Looking forward to the flash of mild irritation on the Best Buy in-store pickup employee’s face when I say “actually I have a second order to pick up too” and swipe to the next barcode

When they eventually make a movie about this time, please don't put the male politicians in good suits. IMO, the ugly, low rent tailoring should be part of the story.

It’s crazy to think about, but the GameCube was the first system that I bought brand new with my own money. I loved that little thing. (Which is good, because I sold almost all my old games to fund it) Happy birthday, old chum

I don’t think I can adequately express how excited I am for the two games coming out this week. But I’ll try to put it into perspective… I think the last time I remember feeling this way was when Avengers Endgame was about to come out.

I have been positively fiending for this training, on a topic I’m supposed to become an expert on in very short order. Now that I actually have it, I can’t focus on it. At all. Snack breaks, bathroom breaks, pet a kitty breaks. What am I doing 🥲

With each year that passes, I remember a different facet of my life. In the days that followed, my best friend’s aunt sat us down and spoke very seriously with us about how we could file as conscientious objectors. She was concerned that we were about to be drafted. No one knew what to expect.
