"Stone could fly. Did fly, if they could measure his flying capacity. He just didn’t? Not with Robotnik. Not for Robotnik. And that was the jarring part. For a man who regarded him with such reverence, such undeniable, he was holding back.

Maybe there’s trauma around flying, or maybe he is embarrassed about his wings, or maybe-

Robotnik slammed his head against his desk, fingers gripping at his scalp. It was all maybe. Maybe, maybe, maybe. Stone was never a maybe. Stone was a yes, doctor. Absolutely, doctor. Right away, doctor. A stable, controlled variable that would always be there. A reliable bit of code in the programme of his life that did what it was meant to do as efficiently as it could.

He shouldn’t have been thinking like this. It was the damn twilight hours, when only he would still be up working, that the human part of his brain decided to act up and forced him to feel things."

"Precisely, Stone. Perhaps you aren't the brain dead simpleton I first pegged you for." At best, the words are mildly insulting. Yet they are the closest Stone has heard to a compliment from the Doctor since he first started working for him so his internal preening in response really cannot be helped. "That is not an admission of being wrong." Robotnik is swift to add. "I'm giving you a chance to prove yourself as more than a dim-witted bean grinder."

"I won't let you down, sir." The other man scoffs, waving a hand at him as the elevator doors open.

"Dispense with the 'sirs', won't you Stone?" He asks boredly.

"Sorry, si-"" Robotnik shoots him a glare. "Sorry. Military habit." He explains. "What do I call you, then?" Robotnik mulls it over with a quiet hum, not hesitating in the slightest in his purposeful strides towards Stone's car.

"Doctor."
End of text sample. Her intro text reads "Big lover of toxic old man yaoi and all things sonic. I write far too much about these two but I don't think anything could stop me now."
