Another project going on is re-grading Pie's water bin area with wood and gravel so she doesn't dig holes with the water. We'll start with this. Even she knows she was caught. Pfft... @ponyco.bsky.social Show to Billy!

Hackleton is extremely physically healthy. His mental state is fragile when it comes to the shivers, so we're downplaying it as much as possible. Step by step.

050

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Shivers causes an extreme nerve response, especially with an abscess in certain areas of the hoof. It's like a game of mouse trap, one thing leads to another. So we take everything into account when deciding the right treatment, including the horse's mental/physical health, strengths & limitations.

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

He has bute and banamine if he needs them. The rain may cause a glitch, but we'll work with what we have to. Including antibiotics if needed. The most important thing is Hackleton is comfortable and relaxed and in his home environment.

230

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Per Freddy's suggestion, which K agrees with wholeheartedly in the triage of Hackleton's abscess, shivers and high work ethic, Hackleton will stay barefoot. He will be monitored several times a day for any soreness or fever for the next two weeks.

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Hackleton's hoof with the remainder of the drawing salve. The abscess had burst. Freddy found another smaller one and burst that as well. Then slowly carved away what he could so air can come as much through the hoof as possible. Hackleton sighed and relaxed.

250

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Then Freddy cut the bandage. It was put on so well by Dr. E that a slight vacuum seal let loose when it released.

060

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

As a precaution, Freddy trimmed the other three hooves first so once Hackleton was done with the abscessed hoof, all would be done, since we did not want him balancing on the abscessed hoof more than necessary.

070

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

And here is the plan for Hackleton! We are so lucky to have Freddy as our farrier!! Hackleton was given dormosedan gel as a sedative so Freddy could take off the bandage and drawing salve to inspect the abcessed hoof.

080

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Nileist fell asleep while getting his trim. His soles continue to thicken. He's also grown a lot of heel!! Good!

180

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Pie has soft feet, but she's remained very balanced. Less cracks overall. We'll take it...

080

Glorious Alliance @gloriousalliance.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Surfer's hooves continue to get better. No cracks and he's grown a ton of sole!
