I realise not many people will care about this, but you may notice a lack of or an underperformance from Asian nations during the Worlds. That's because there is a clash with the Asian Games which are currently taking place in Nagoya, Japan. It's a much bigger event than the UCI Worlds.

A lot of chatter about Isaac del Toro not having any help from his Mexican team-mates at the Worlds. He will be outnumbered, but I think Edgar Cadena - 6th at Asturias, 10th at Deutschland Tour - will last a lot longer than people realise.
