Arguably the most impressive use of Tommyknocker tech is writing a book for you while you sleep. Sound familiar? If The Tommyknockers came out today, you'd think it was a VERY thinly veiled commentary on genAI breaking people's brains and data centers poisoning small towns.

I have a soft spot for The Tommyknockers and I think it's become so much more interesting because of AI. Almost all of the inventions the townspeople make are shit. They use up a ton of batteries and seem impressive on the surface but when you actually think about it, they're not really useful.

Hi I am once again going through insane life changes such as leaving my career and moving across the country back from whence I came. This is a bittersweet, stressful, and highly painful time, but I’m hoping I’ll have more lasting stability by the time it’s done.

What’s your favorite shark species? Mine is definitely the blacktip reef shark. It’s not the most interesting or special looking one out there but I somehow really like them.
