![The person vou screenshotted is queer. It says so in her bio. You don't get to police whether other members of the LGBTQ community reclaim this word. You don't have to use it yourself if you don't like it, but it is very commonly reclaimed in the community as a blanket term. Pedro Pascal has not specifically come out as bi, so that's why she used a blanket term. Nobody is "digging up an ancient slur." There are advocacy groups, bookstores, bars, etc with "queer" in their names.

![Third, and most significantly, the Home Rule Act gives the President the power to take control of the D.C. Police “whenever [he] determines that special conditions of an emergency nature exist which require the use of the Metropolitan Police force for federal purposes.” The authority is limited to no more than 30 days (it’s limited to 48 hours unless the President sends a special notification to the Chair and Ranking Members of the relevant congressional committees explaining why he needs the authority for longer). And even within those 30 days, the authority is simply to use the MPD “for federal purposes.” In other words, the President can borrow the MPD for his own priorities; but he can’t control how they discharge their other duties.
The upshot of all of this is that the President does have two important authorities when it comes to “local” law enforcement in the District of Columbia: He can use the (small) D.C. National Guard in circumstances in which he probably couldn’t use any other military personnel; and he can require the use of MPD “for federal purposes” for up to 30 days. That’s not nothing, but it also isn’t anything close to some kind of federal takeover of the nation’s capital.
