Just a reminder as #TRIO is now listed as something to eliminate in Trumps budget. They claim lack of oversight - we submit an annual budget accounting for the plans to spend each year and we submit a detailed annual performance report every December proving we are serving students!

THE NEXT FOUR YEARS WILL BE CHALLENGING: "Be the reason why the lights flicker when you enter a room." It's time for our collective power to manifest in a way that protects our children and our environment. Here's just one example :-)}

A sepia-toned photo of a witch seated in a misty woods by a stream, their pointed hat and dark hair obscuring their face, accompanied by the text: "Be the reason why the lights flicker when you enter a room."

I'm scared for me and our students. I work for Trio a student services counseling program in college for first generation, low income, and/or students with disabilities. Our grant is funded by the Dept of Ed. Now...They could wipe out all 1400 programs across the u.s with one budget vote. #doe #trio

The Trio program in college is funded by the doe to aid students who are low income or first generation college students or disabled - and we have one of the highest graduation success rates of any program. So of course they will take away all of that if they defund
