glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Someone’s pain may be an explanation for hurting others, but it’s not an excuse. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 24/09/2026I don't regularly read the forums, so I can't comment on those posts. I'm sure like anywhere on the internet there are good, bad, and ugly takes. However, I don't think wanting more active servers in a PvPvE game is abusive. Anyone being toxic in PvP encounters would be an issue regardless of dives. 020
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 24/09/2026The only commendations not available in Safer Seas are either directly related to PvP or involve late game content meant to include the risk of PvP. If you're not interested in fighting, they aren't commendation you'd be going after anyway. 120
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 24/09/2026That colors the game in a way that isn't intended. Social interaction was always meant to be a major component of the game, and is where the game used to shine. Without it, it's just grinding the same voyages over and over again. It's fine if that's what you want, but they have Safer Seas for that. 120
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 24/09/2026The issue with the dive voyages is it incentivizes changing servers as soon as your goal is accomplished. That means your far less likely to run into other crews, including friendly or indifferent ones. So the rare ones that do approach are more likely to be seeking a fight. 120
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 24/09/2026You can still change server's at will, you just can't take your supplies and/or flag with you. If a sweat is repeatedly hounding you, you can just scuttle to a new sea, same as always. 100
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Yup, becasue your phone can already do anything these virtual assistants can do better and faster. Even if your a mark for AI, you can run it off your phone easily. There is no need for dedicated hardware. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 24/09/2026While I hope she wins, gamblers arn’t any more informed than the rest of us. 000
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 23/09/2026That's really cool, but if they where doing this in New York, surely they where doing it elsewhere. So when are they paying back the rest of their workers? 000
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 22/09/2026The exciting part is that they now understand better how the back part of the brain develops, which has allowed them for the first time to grow the cells in a lab. This will likely lead to better treatments for ALS, Parkinsons and similar disorders. 010
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 22/09/2026If I understood it right, the front part of the brain that handles consciousness and the back part of the brain that controls other organs both grow from two different and separate cells. They just immediately intertwine. Seems they discovered that by more closely examining the cells DNA. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 22/09/2026So, Activision is going to be in charge of Rare and Sea of Thieves. Not sure what that means for the game or the company. Both could probably use a shake-up, but I'm just not sure if the Call of Duty people are the best shepherds for that change. 031
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I would have to try it. Had stranger things that tasted good. 010
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 21/09/2026If the grapes are made into jam or jelly, yes! 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Definitely gonna do some drive by "Arr!" at some point this weekend. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Game's free to play for the event, so I'm sure there are a lot of new people dipping their toes in. The Parley flag feels like Rare subtly nudging the regulars to be slightly less aggro for them. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 18/09/2026And while it’s disappointing we havn’t had much added to the main game the past 6 months, the game has struggled for years to properly balance the quality and quantity of new content with regular maintenance. I’d rather they take their time to get it right than rush out broken or boring content. 010
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Season 18 used the much maligned three act structure, meaning the last feature of the season didn’t hit until March 5th, 2026 with the introduction of Ashen Garrisons. 100

glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I don't know you, but I'm glad you are still with us. 020
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 16/09/2026With all that in mind, I'm far less worried about them directly threatening us than I am about tech bros and injecting it into everything and degrading our infrastructure and systems simply becasue humans overestimate how well they can function and stop doing the required due diligence. 010
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I've also heard that these programs require far to much compute to easily spread themselves the way a virus or malware can. They would need outside help to maintain themselves. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 16/09/2026From what I've heard, every instance of LLM based AI going rogue so far has been researchers specifically instructing them to "go rogue" to test their capabilities, or people giving agents to much access to fragile systems that they then inadvertently break. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Yeah, at the very least it opens the door for more potential crossovers where the corrupting influence of the Ring would still be a factor. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Wasn't there a metanarrative wherein Tolkien wasn't the writer, but the person who found Bilbo and Frodo's manuscripts and translated them to modern English? With that in mind, you could argue any story set on an Earth were Tolkien lived is part of the same setting, just in a different time period. 120
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Ah, my bad. I have not been following the recent shows, so was unaware of the timeline. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I will say, in a world of food replicators and holo-decks, the appeal of a historical dinner show seems somewhat lessened to me. But maybe the chefs and performers really go all out to make a meal and show you couldn't get from the automated sources. 130
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 15/09/2026For the majority of people, yeah. But scams are a numbers game. The percentage of people gullible enough to fall for it may be small, but with a bug enough population that’s all you need. 010
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I’ve heard that’s a common scam, actually. “Pay a small fee to get your foot in the door!” Aimed at people who don’t know anything about publishing. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 12/09/2026I am growing increasingly frustrated with articles like these that treat a streaming company making a playlist as news, while also characterizing it as "assigning homework". It's there for those who are interested. I doubt they are any more vital to Doomsday than early phases where to Infinity War. 010
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Maybe limit them to your home desktop/laptop? That way you can still share your art without being tempted to look at social media constantly. 120
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 11/09/2026@mutinousmel.bsky.social what did you do?! #seaofthieves 260
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Meh, they jack the prices either way. But this is all theoretical anyway. I am not the person confident enough to try it with their own cup. 110
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Not encouraging anyone to steal. But if I personally worked at a place with a soda machine and you paid for a cup, I would not care if you filled up a thermos. Especially if you bought a meal. 100
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 11/09/2026I'm kind of ok with the soda machine. That stuff has a crazy markup. 211
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I love to share how in the comic this costume originated, which this season is also adapting, Magneto pretended to be Charles' cousin "Michael Xavier". He took the man's last name! 000
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 10/09/2026It's actually Fraggle. Half the cost, and you really can't tell the difference. 010
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 10/09/2026A few games back, Samus was infected by alien bacteria, and was saved by having Metroid DNA spliced into her. The previous game revealed this resulted in her getting their energy draining ability. The newly announced game has her being forced to rely on this ability to survive on a hostile moon. 020
glitchwraith @glitchwraith.bsky.social · 10/09/2026The games follow the adventures of Samus Aran, an armored bounty hunter, and her run ins with the Metroids, a race of jellyfish-like energy vampires that multiple factions have tried to weaponize. 120
