I think people who dnf books purely because “it’s disgusting and shouldn’t exist” perpetuate Puritanism. “It’s disgusting why would anyone read this” because sometimes being disturbed is a luxury. We are allowed to be a little bit perverse and horrified - as a treat :)

I picked up and finished Lapvona and people really made it out to be worse than it actually was. Although it was a miserable read, I liked the hysteria of “this will get me into heaven” and what love under the guise of god and selfishness inspired and cursed, If not pain and pleasure confused.
