robotgirl, hang on a sec. WD-40 is great and all but in the end it is a penetrating solvent and not really intended for lubrication (unless you were working something loose that was seizing! :o ).
Use this tube of white lithium grease or some silicone spray. Both are safe on metal and plastics!
