Just showed my 2yo son this Mickey Mouse F1 car from the announcement of F1’s Disney partnership and he went absolutely mad for it 😂 Great to see another F1 initiative aimed at appealing to younger/potential new fans (along with Lego, Hot Wheels etc)

It was hilarious researching this one. Was Michael really trying to stage a dead heat? (If so, probably should have told the other guy in advance!) Very amusing how the story kept flip-flopping from a dead heat or paying Rubens back for Austria. Maybe he didn't really know why he did it! #f1

Had a bunch of info come through on the F1/Hot Wheels cars. Really like that they're doing budget and premium versions. The cheaper ones are just £2.30, which makes them much more accessible (I hope!) I say this as someone who fell in love with F1 through having a toy car collection!

You don't come across F1 cars that have been on journeys like this very often. I'm sure lots of old cars go through weird things once they are sold on. It's probably rare that they end up back how they started though! And the poor thing never even got raced in 1997 😢

The FIA's explanation for its handling of the mirror on track in the Qatar GP is nonsense. It says it's not normal practice to put an SC out for small debris off the racing line. Which completely overlooks the fact this was next to the racing line at the only overtaking point on the lap.

Absolute shocker from F1 race direction there. Why would you leave a piece of debris that big on track for so many laps, especially when it’s just off the racing line in the only overtaking zone on the whole track? I get that it’s a tough job but that was an obvious call. Dreadful.

Sprint quali is like someone took the normal qual format and hit an automated setting to ‘remove silences’. I like the lack of hanging around. It makes the full hour F1 qualifying session feel needlessly bloated.

The road to this point was surely rockier than it needed to be, but it’s good that F1 is adding another team to the grid. Hopefully this Cadillac effort has the backing to be credible once it gets on track. 2010 taught us that adding new teams for the sake of it is pointless 🙏

It's right that McLaren sees 2024 as a learning year for how to fight for an F1 drivers' championship in '25. It takes time to become battle-hardened at the front. But Verstappen's also spent that time learning how to get the most out of every weekend when he doesn't have the best car.

Maybe when Verstappen seals the 2024 F1 title, Red Bull will let him race his personal livery that's just come out in the F1 24 game 🎮 😂 After all, to slightly deviously (🤭) quote Max himself, "It's really cool that people can drive cars that are not just the standard liveries" 🎨

My main takeaway from the special Alpine Las Vegas F1 livery is that they now have enough room for manoeuvre around the weight limit to actually put some colour on their car - compare this to the supposed 'pink' variant of their livery at the start of the year!
