Offline Writes are now in public beta for the Turso Cloud: turso.tech/blog/turso-o... It allows you to write to your local SQLite files, and then sync it to the Cloud - as well as receiving live updates from the Cloud. Conflict resolution is not yet supported - but coming in the future! @tur.so

Two great releases from @tur.so this week: 1) We launched our AWS regions, available for all. They use a diskless architecture, backed by S3, which is the building block of BYOC: keep your data with you, in your architecture. 2) We launched the developer plan, for just $4.99 a month. Links below

I am looking to chat with Software Engineers that work in physical systems (robots, drones, aircraft, etc) and can tell me more about the data problems you face. Bonus point if you use or consider using SQLite. We'd love to understand how our rewrite of SQLite can help you!

Today we are announcing big changes to the @tur.so platform. Some upcoming, some effective immediate. They will allow us to narrow our focus, and let us go ALL IN in a renewed mission: delivering a modern open contribution rewrite of SQLite through the Limbo project.

confession: I hedge my bets by making sure I stay friendly with Claude, just in case he wakes up. Call it AI-simping. I call it the Pascal AI-wager.

I spent the best part of this week thinking about what to do with the release of @tur.so's Limbo. In my wildest dreams, I could not imagine it would be the success it was - I can't think of a database project that attracted this much attention, this fast, this early. 🧵1/5

C'mon folks, it's been 8 days!!! Stop starring github.com/tursodatabase/limbo and sending amazing high quality PRs! All I wanted was a peaceful holiday and now you are forcing me to revisit our entire company strategy for 2025.

If you'd rather watch ThePrimeagen break down @penberg.org's Limbo rewrite of SQLite in Rust than read the article - and I recommend it (way more entertaining) - here's the vid! 👇 youtu.be/PPjXM8G8ax0

We at @tur.so are hiring for a Platform Engineer position. If you battled Kubernetes and lived to tell the story, and is a decent coder in Go (and maybe Rust), this position is for you. Location agnostic, but must be in the US timezone. turso.tech/careers/seni...

I don't think I've ever seen anything like Limbo before. We at @tur.so made @penberg.org 's side project an official project 5 days ago, and the growth curve on stars still looks vertical, only now slowing down a bit. Even better than stars, is that the project gained 10 more contributors.

Today we have decided to make @penberg.org 's experimental project, an official Turso project, following its great success. What if instead of just forking SQLite, we were to completely rewrite it - in Rust? That's our moonshot - codename Limbo turso.tech/blog/introdu...

Introducing Limbo: A complete rewrite of SQLite in Rust

we forked SQLite with the libSQL project. What would it be like if we just rewrote it?

Kent is on point, unsurprisingly. Adding to the conversation as a data point, I have never applied for a job in my life. Even my first job came through a connection, and everything after that was a similar experience.

I think databases in the future will be free. To celebrate the ability to share links, I am sharing here some thoughts I jotted down on why and how I think this will happen turso.tech/blog/databas...

In the near future, databases will be free and plentiful. What does that change for you?

Ok, many of you may not know, but I didn't grow up in America. In fact, I still don't even live in America (I am in Canada). So I grew up with the metric system. I am ok with and even prefer the metric system. But my God, Celsius is bullshit. Move to metric, keep Fahrenheit.

Coded a lot the past 3 days. It is dangerous for me. Addictive. Too easy to rationalize that I should do more, but then other functions suffer

It feels strange not to have the view count of the posts here. When twitter introduced that, it really helped understand how wide a post was reaching.

Are organizations and companies coming here already, or is this mostly an idividuals only place? In particular, any good way to tell organizations apart?
