I am so impressed and proud of our creative children. Our practitioners give them the opportunity to be inquisitive through experiences that challenge and provoke their thinking. Most of all we have fun learning together, I also tried out the human Spirograph 😃 it was great fun #LearningIsFun

In the quiet room learners have continued their interest in flags. As well as making their own interpretations of their favourite flag, educators provided flag puzzles to complete. Lots of problem solving, perseverence, matching and sorting. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇮🇳 🇦🇺

In the Quiet Room we have began exploring flags of the world. Learners have been identifying different colours, shapes and patterns that make each flag special. They have been drawing their own interpretations of their favourite flag. 🇮🇳 🇫🇷 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

At the block side learners have continued their interest in forces. Using blankets learners noticed their hair standing up. Educators provided balloons for learners to rub on their hair. We then experimented with tissue paper to see how many we could lift up with the balloon.

Outdoors this week our learners have been exploring the forces push and pull. Describing how each different force feels using mathematical language. Our learners have also noticed the change in weather and have been predicting how ice is made. ❄️🥶

As learners continue to explore Room on the Broom, they wanted to make the witches spell. Educators provided ingredients for learners to choose from. We made lots of colourful, smelly, fizzing potions with learners recalling the magic words ‘iggety, ziggety, zaggety, ZOOM 🪄

In the big room block side the learners have been exploring forces through using magnets and predicting what might happen. The educators provided materials and the learners have been using their problem solving and curiosity skills to decide what was magnetic and what wasn’t. 🧲😊 #forces

Learners continue to explore stories in the quiet room. We have been enjoying experiences focussing on Room on the Broom. Learners have been using props to act out the story and even made their own broom 🧹 📕🧙‍♀️

In the music room children have enjoyed doing YMI, children have also used there creativity to make a giant clock and using there bodies to show the correct time, also enjoying using different animals to re enact the rhyme.

In the garden we have explored forces by flying our kites, finding autumnal objects, using mathematical language to explore measuring and making lots of yummy treats in the mud kitchen.

In the garden this week our learners have been continuing to explore mathematic language using transient art and Big and Small! Our leaners have been exploring their forces using their bodies and objects. We have also been developing our self help skills when putting on suits, wellies and jackets☔️😁

In the music room children have continued their interest in traditional nursery rhymes with a particular focus, this week, on Hickory Dickory Dock. Children have used their creativity to make their own clock and use these props to re-enact the rhyme.

In snack we are continuing to settle our new learners in and helping them establish snack routines. Learners are making their own choices around what they choose to eat, promoting independence. We’ve had some amazing helpers to chop our vegetables to make healthy soup.

The learners in the garden have enjoyed going out on autumn walks. The children helped to find Conkers, Acorns, sticks and leaves. We then discussed the different shapes and sizes and what they could be used for. They also enjoyed making obstacle courses, working as a team to create there own. 😊🍂

The learners have continued to work on their self serving skills in snack. With cosy season approaching, the children prepared vegetables for a pot of soup, using a variety of resources. They discussed the differences in shape, size and consistencies. Well done, it was delicious ☺️🥣

This week in the music, dance and drama studio learners voted for which nursery rhyme they would like to explore. ‘5 Current Buns in a Bakers Shop’ had the most votes. Lots of learners have been keen to take on the role of the ‘baker’ and brought the rhyme to life, serving up current buns 👩🏼‍🍳🍒.

In the Atelier this week our learners were discussing the changes in the weather which led on from our beach scenes to autumn beach scenes. “The leaves are red, orange & yellow” CK. Our learners have shown an interest in sewing developing their hand eye coordination & fine motor skills. #autumn 🍁🍂
