It's a historic building with beautifully refurbished rooms, and an easy to walk to all the cool stuff downtown. And quite reasonably priced! 060

GlacierGrl @glaciergrl.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Hi! Sperry Chalet sits at about 6600 feet elevation. I do not wear bear bells. I find them annoying, plus they aren't loud enough to be very effective. Yelling and clapping before rounding a bend works the best. But im sure they are better than nothing for your doggie! 111

I didn't go cuz I wanted to spend Easter with my family, so would get to CA a day late. He took some chic who didn't even know SG, and Chris Cornell stage dived almost on top of them. They haul loads of supplies to both Sperry and Granite Park Chalets, climbing difficult trails with lotsa switchbacks and big elevation gains. It was neat to see them on the trail, and see how excited the staff were to see them. 1110

The dining room is open for lunch for anyone, and I had a fantastic grilled cheese, lemonade, and cherry pie! I almost ran into a bear too on way down! 4151
